I live about 4 hours away from the nearest service center, and I'm approaching my 7500 mile mark.

This is the most expensive vehicle I've owned, and I know that it's a bit of a rarity still, especially in rural areas. I went to Les Schwab before for snow socks, but they didn't have any that's at my tires, so that gave me pause for additional service.

But, I would rather not travel for hours to get my tires rotated. Just wanted to know what other people's experience was with Les Schwab. Any cautionary tales I should be aware, or should I be fine?

For the 7500 mile maintenance I was offered a mobile appointment by Rivian if that is something you have available to you where you are. My garage is too small so I will be going to the service center anyway. It includes the tire rotation and a "multipoint inspection".

Unfortunately, I'm too far out of the range for a mobile appointment.

I use Les Schwab, no complaints. Bring your own pucks for best results, & be prepared to put the vehicle in tire change mode for them.

Or go to Discount Tire if you don't have pucks. I don't think it is unusual LS wouldn't have sno socks for a Rivian, most vehicles with this tire size would use chains so probably doesn't make sense to stock that size.

You know I forgot to ask when I was talking to the service rep on the phone yesterday. They are supposed to call me again a couple days before my appointment next week so I will ask then. I was assuming it would be in that same ballpark.

I'm surprised that you are out of range for mobile service. AJ, who serviced our R1T, lives in Redmond and said that his coverage area included Klamath Falls and all the way to Crescent City. Maybe they've changed the guidelines. He was last here in June '23.

My experience with Les Schwabe has been hit and miss in the PNW (Portland). If you show and tell them exactly what to do they are great, but leave to their own devices and it can be a roll of the dice. Ive seen incorrect balancing, broken TPMS and straight out poor advice.

I'm a 40 year (dyed in the wool) customer of Les Schwab. In the past I drove 5K miles a month. I've accumulated over 3 million miles here in the 4 NW states. I've probably had work done at 90% of their stores in the 4 NW states. (During my time of visits to them, they have changed from being a family owned company to a corporate owed company). I did have my favorite stores in the NW, because I usually saw the manager, but they were all better than most other tire stores. In fact I received 2 free shock/strut replacements with accompanied 4 wheel alignment with them. I've had them press out and replace wheel studs after they were sheared off from use because of mileage. That was always free. Oh, I am anal about rotating my tires every 5K. So when I got 200K on a vehicle you can tell how many times they mounted and demouted tires. Usually at about 100K it was time for new shocks/struts also. That's how I got free ones. My local Les Schwab loves my R1T and they rotated my tires for free in December. I also traded in the chains from my previous vehicle for chains for this truck. (In WA even if you drive a 4 wheel drive with snow tires, you are required to have a set of chains along). Les Schwab just charges the difference in price if you don't use your previous set. I have never installed chains even though I carry them. So Les Schwab has never charged me for a rotation or balance after the initial set up.

I just took mine to Discount Tire in Bellevue and they jacked up the drivers side without using the correct hoist points, tried to use the small holes with the bolts in them and messed up my underside.

This is after I specifically asked them if they knew the correct way to jack a Rivian up.

I’m far away from a service center or even Discount Tire. I’ve been using Les Schwab for the past couple years with my Rivian. I bought my own pucks, which made it way easier.

When my Pirellis wore out, I got some Maxxis RAZR replacements from them, too.

Wow, how many miles do you have on your Rivian? You already wore out the Scorpions?

We apologize for your recent experience. We would like to look further in to this to make sure you're taken care of. Hope you don't mind us sending a DM.
