It won’t necessarily raise the value of the vehicle. They have not said whether paying (for the license) means that the feature stays with the vehicle and can be transferred.
It stays with the vehicle per Rivian.

If the pricing is the same when my R3X arrives, I'll probably pay the $50 for the individual months that I go on long trips.

Sometimes the return on specific options does not get a monetary return but can make the vehicles more desirable on the used market.

If we buy a R2S at some point, will pay the $2500. Small premium for a potential FSD equivalent. Even if all it delivers is the equivalent of enhanced autopilot, I would be fine with it. Being a nerd, I would wait for the Lidar version.

Also, it’s worth noting that UHF will not observe traffic lights or stop signs. Hmm…

Which is exactly the problem I have with the cruise control as is. I usually use it in cruise control mode on the highway, but get annoyed when it slows down as I come up on another car. I had it cruise control around town the other day and got distracted at the stop sign by other idiot drivers doing stupid things. I was at a stop that has room for two lanes (one to turn) but wasn't marked. The only guy going straight (left across a median) was way to the right behind the two other cars in front of him that were turning right. When he finally got
the clue and pulled into the other part of the lane, my R1T suddenly thought I was clear to go and surged forward. Thankfully I wasn't that distracted and covered the brake or I would have pulled out into oncoming traffic against a red light.

I guess I didn’t do enough due diligence. I thought Gen2 R1 was getting the FSD-lite that they showed in the videos, but appears that UHF rolling out is not what they showed. For $2500 I suppose it’s still not a terrible deal, but not the bargain FSD I was expecting

Not sure what "FSD-lite" means, but the Gen2 R1 will get point-to-point supervised self-driving. That is basically what Tesla FSD is now. Gen2 will not get "eyes off" self-driving, but FSD isn't "eyes off" either.

I'm assuming this means that the current highway hands free will be behind a paywall going forward, in that case this feels like something I might subscribe to for a month here and there if I know I have a long drive planned. Day to day I don't really see the value here with the current feature set.

FSD-lite as in point-to-point but I’m assuming it won’t be as good as Tesla’s V14. Maybe if they keep iterating it will, but you can’t expect that much from a gen 1 product. Even if it’s 80% as good as Tesla’s when they launch it next year I’d consider that a good sign

The poll could use one more response category. With more certainty than "liklihood" conveys, I'd vote for: "Definitely Not"

I think making you keep the Autonomy+ with owners will encourage repeat buyers.
I imagine they'll allow it at certain times as a lever to drive sales when they want/need them (similar to Tesla).

Wasn't it the villainous Joker who said "If your good at something , never do it for free?"
