Potential SC in Hayward, CA scrapped?

According to this article, Rivian is bailing out of a lease for two large industrial buildings in Hayward, CA. This is disappointing news for those of us hoping that there was going to be a new service center in the East Bay soon. Maybe they found a better property and can sublease this one without losing money. We can only hope.

Sorry I meant supercharger/RAN not service center. The location you're referencing could have been a service center or some distribution/warehouse

They are opening up a service center in not only hayward but Martinez as well. Martinez is opening within a few months.

This is great news! Martinez is even better for me than Hayward.
Not that it really matters, because my truck hasn’t had to go to a SC for anything I didn’t cause.

I'm surprised that Rivian is not planning a SC in Dublin/Pleasanton area.

Martinez is a bit of surprise. I would have expected Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill area.

You’re right, but there’s a very limited number of buildings in those cities that could be used for a Rivian SC. Martinez or Concord have more choices & better prices, and us Rivian owners in the Tri Valley will be thrilled to go there rather than SSF.
