Hi all - I’m hoping to get some PPF advice from the PPF wizards on here. The below is a quote I have received with a couple options. Mostly curious if the ultimate package is necessary compared to the first, cheaper option.

“I charge $975 for my 18" Platinum Plus Package - 18” SunTek Reaction or Ceramic Pro Kavaca installed on the hood, fenders, headlights, mirrors, door handles, and front bumper.

Add $75 to upgrade to 24” film.

Installation will take about 7 hours.

I charge $2,100 for my Ultimate Package - Suntek Reaction or Ceramic Pro Kavaca installed on the full hood, full fenders, headlights, mirrors, door handles, A-pillars, and complete front bumper.

Installation will take about 25 hours. I would need to keep your car for 3 full days.

I charge $1,700 to apply Ceramic Pro (5 year warranty) or $1,900 for Opti-Coat Pro Plus (7 year warranty) on your car. We will cover all of the exterior painted surfaces as well as any chrome, metal, and plastic trim. The price includes all paint correction that we will need to do.”

thanks!

Is this a reputable shop? The prices are not bad, but I am personally not a fan of Ceramic Pro products.

From my limited knowledge of PPF brands, I would try to get Xpel as that seems to be the industry standard.

If I were you I'd quote around more places.

How thick is each film? That and coverage are usually the differences in price...aside from most popular brands vs others.

My Tacoma came with whatever PPF the dealer put on, which I am sure is not the best of the best. After 5 years of CO weather it is still in great shape. It's a white truck so it's barely noticeable. I guess my point is to not feel like you have to spend a ton of money on it. Some people never get it at all and go do their outdoor stuff without a care in the world.

Denver Auto Shield. They aren't cheap but had them fully wrap mine in XPEL and ceramic with Window tint on the driver and passenger and the workmanship is amazing. They have done many Rivians.

That’s exactly my plan once my R1S arrives! Mind sharing the cost you were quoted for that?

$2600 out the door. I ended up including Ppf strips on my outside door sills for when my dogs have their heads/paws out the window. That was $250 so you can expect around $2300 I’d say.

there were 3 other R1T in there and a matte launch green R1S. They give you a quick tour of the facility. State of the art

Denver_Dan - That's funny; I dropped off mine there last night for exactly the same thing. Picking up Friday. If you see a white one; that's mine!

I have seen quite a few posts about ppf quotes. Is there a reason people are not going with the Rivian program? Tim at XPEL has said they expect factory installations to start in October but if you already have your truck they have a discounted program at preferred installers:

Am I missing something?

Oh wow. I did not know about this. I guess it’s too late now given my truck is in the shop

I can only speak for myself
1. The minimal PPF that came on my truck from the factory...frankly sucked...and getting it replaced wouldn't be a timely thing....especially on the major parts of the vehicle with the factory option
2. It wasn't a thing when i got mine in May
3. I wanted ceramic and and tint. Got that all at once
4. I'm extremely anal about my vehicles and who touches them, so I went with people I've worked with before and knew I could trust....but was also willing to pay a bit more for that.

Frankly they need to remove this from their site. You fill out the form and they refer your info to a local installer. The installer will tell you that $4500 full vehicle quote is impossible, which I understand.
