Yep. Ive got enough pinstriping on the side of my truck in the clear coat that when it's dusty it looks terrible.

Holy smokes! Is that from scraping bushes and sticks while driving through narrow off road trails? I can't imagine any way to do that much damage without taking it down some serious trails.

What product did you use for this?

Struggling to justify wraps/expensive ceramic application for a truck. I love it and want to keep it looking beautiful, but I also don't want to stop short of enjoying my time in the backcountry to the fullest for fear of chipping a nail.
There's a youtube video comparing PPFs:
One thing that seems to be common with all the brands is that they lose some of their properties within a year.

I did clear PPF for full front, mirrors, door handles (why?) and the black pillars. 10mil thick on the vertical and satin on the aluminum colored front shield. DIY paint correction prior with clay bar and then DA Meguiars 105/205 and topped off with Chemical Guys Carbon Force ceramic. 8-10 hours of labor to save $1000.

I'd recommend the Rivian XPEL front program......

Dang! Looking at others here I feel bad complaining about real juicy bug guts splatters .... May be because it's was its maiden trip this morning...

Anyway, I bought a roll of 3m clear PPF and will attempt DIY this weekend on the front end. Will update

It's an $80k truck. I didn't find it hard to justify ppf. It went straight to the detail shop from Rivian.

Looking forward to your update. Did you just want to focus on one high impact area, or are the contours on the rest of the body too intimidating for DIY?

Literally any Jeep trail in the world is narrow enough to pin-stripe a Rivian if it has foliage.

Yikes, those all look pretty bad considering 1 year and ~$7K for full wrap.

Looks great to me! Is that a factory paint option??
That looks like artisan crafted alluvial dust, hand selected and paired with a rich compote of Mesopotamian silt harvested from the Euphrates. Also serves as a powerful yet delicate cleansing face mask … throwing it on your friend's face is a show of respect!

a good lathering of a ceramic wax is enough to fend of light pin-striping, otherwise, bring a pair of hedge clippers.

I'm lazy, I bring a battery mini "pruning" chainsaw that is amazing ferocious at clearing the limbs with no fuss. The hassle factor compared to shears is it needs chain oil and needs sharpening (of course) but it's so quick (and 10x more dangerous) the space it takes up is worth it, like the small kit bag of essential self-recovery gear.

I bought it for tree work because the reviews of apparently real people said it actually works, not a toy (it does, it isn't.)

This uses the same batteries as the portable power washer and vacuum cleaner and tire inflator, so it's all in one box in the bed (of an F-150 … about two inches too tall for the R1T … grumble … haven't found the "maximal" box to fit under the cover in the bed …)
