... from my phone and both fobs, both at home and in foreign locations. Hard reset did not solve it. Has anyone else had this occur? I'll add it to my list of issues. I just got out of service for a drive unit replacement at 1,500 miles, not itching to go back. Fortunately this is a minor issue.

A lot of people are reporting issues with proximity lock. Myself included.
It's likely due to a recently emergent software bug.

I've done a hard reset of the truck twice now, each time it fixes it (at least for a period of time).

Mine gets fixed with a soft reset. I’ve done two since this last update. Don’t just leave the vehicle without checking it locks

My Android phone was an A51, that phone was part of the problem, I replaced it, problem stopped. Coincidence, maybe, I will see.
I had a couple of incidents that the truck let me in, but not start. I did a reset, then drove away.
I carry my key card.

The fob is the more troubling one. It's expected Rivian software is too crappy to work with phones all the time. I would expect the fob to be pretty reliable. What's next, braking stops working?

How long does the battery last in the FOB? I don't carry it, I carry card instead. I guess I should test the FOB every couple months..

My proximity locking works great but it doesn’t shut off at home anymore. Also it doesn’t give me the prompt to enter my home address.

I’ve never used my fob but when I’ve had service a year and then two years ago the battery was dead both times.

I would test the card every now and then as well. I was relying on mine as a backup then lost my keys and discovered that the reader in the door had stopped working. Mobile service replaced it but it's still having issues so now I'm waiting on a SC appointment.

My original fob battery lasted ~14 months, I bought a replacement from Amazon that lasted maybe two weeks. I'm not sure if it was a bad battery or some other issue. Replaced again and it's been fine for 7-8 months now.

I had this happen early on... Locked out of my truck and all that. Turns out it was a faulty sensor in the driver's door handle that had to be replaced. One check for this: when the issue occurs, does your air compressor still work? Or is it without power?

The air compressor is tied in with the same circuit downstream, so it might be an easy check if there is a door sensor failing.

Interesting that the compressor is on same circuit as the car door card reader.

I will make a schedule to check my keys. As for the card, I now have to place the card in the gap of the door paneling to get it to read. The factory person told me about this when the truck failed to start with my old cell. Once the card woke the truck up, I was able to remove the cell then reinstall it then it worked.

I also have this issue, and one thing i've noticed is that the truck sometimes thinks its somewhere else, which influences the proxy behaviour.

I think this is related to an issue with the maps functionality, which i've noticed since the previous update (connect +) doesn't load the drivers display map unless you have Nav selected on the main screen first when getting into the vehicle.

What i've noticed is that if I drive somewhere, and the maps app isn't selected on the main display during the drive, once I select it at the location i'm at, it first shows me being at the location I started driving, then quickly adjusts itself to where I currently am. It's almost like its caching the previous location and only updating once maps app is selected.

This had led me to see the following situations:

1. I leave home and go somewhere else (don't open maps) - Proxy lock doesn't work, truck will stay unlocked if I walk away as it assumes its still at home
2. I drive home from somewhere else (while at the other place or enroute I had looked at the map page, but it was not up when I got home) - Proxy lock is enabled when at home as truck doesn't think its at home
3. Drive home from somewhere else with map page on - Proxy lock is disabled as it should be while at home
4. Drive away from home to another location with map page on - Proxy lock is enabled as truck knows its location is not home

Overall, seems like some sort of location bug, coupled with the nav maybe being in some dormant / sleep mode until you press the nav button on main display...

FWIW, I’ve had similar issues with proximity locking these last two weeks. After trying multiple resets, I had no luck. Today, it suddenly decided to quit misbehaving and all is well, again. Dunno why. Hopefully, others will have similar outcomes.
