They refused to use mine and said they were pros at Rivians and had their own pucks to use. They proceeded to fuck up my truck by not aligning the pucks correctly or using the wrongs ones entirely. If you had your own pucks, could you have given them to DT to use?
Could you yourself have driven your Rivian into the service bay?
DT has been flawless for me. But I myself drive my cars in and prep them for service. Own Teslas , will do exactly the same for my R1S.
Wow, I am so sorry about your incident. I can think of more than $80,000 reasons why I would not allow anybody else in my R1S ever for this type of service. They refused to use mine and said they were pros at Rivians and had their own pucks to use. Our experience is each DT is not (unfortunately) on the same process and procedure page when it comes to Rivian vehicles. There is an obvious flaw in the corporate training culture. We have customers who bring in our magnetic pucks and DT uses them without hesitation and raves over them compared to what Rivian has provided them, others who will say, we have a specific directive from Rivian and management how to handle the vehicles and we can't use a customer puck.If you had your own pucks, could you have given them to DT to use?

So many good tattoo ideas on this forum!
You expect them to be working over the weekend?Crickets ? from @Discount Tire
No need to be a Discount Tire appologist. The Disclunt tire by me is also open in the weekends and many other vendors here on RFs are active on this forum on the weekends. You expect them to be working over the weekend?
Logical, @jebinc, and I know it's frustrating to have been mistreated without immediate recourse, but I want to recognize the very positive things about Discount Tire's forum presence. No need to be a Discount Tire appologist. I agree that @Discount Tire has been more active than nearly any other vendor, but the glaring disparity in service between locations keeps growing. It's also not unreasonable to expect a chain with over 1100 locations, 28,000 employees, and nearly $9 billion in revenue could staff customer service 7 days a week.Logical, @jebinc, and I know it's frustrating to have been mistreated without immediate recourse, but I want to recognize the very positive things about Discount Tire's forum presence.
Some vendors participate 7 days a week, and have full authority to resolve anything on their own say-so. Those are generally very small shops -- nothing like the very large scale of Discount Tire
The @Discount Tire representative on this forum generally responds within one WORKING day and seems to have authority to escalate most complaints within the company.
I suspect this is one person (or a small number of people) doing this "on the clock" with the company's blessing. Even though it's frustrating to wait, other users report @Discount Tire "makes it right" as soon as they can.
Thanks and best wishes!
We apologize for your recent experience. We would like to look further in to this to make sure you're taken care of. Hope you don't mind us sending a DM.I have had questionable results at the Carson City, NV store. First time in was when I purhased snow tires. I had an appointment and, once I got there, didn’t really pay much attention. I noticed, about a mile or so after leaving the store, that my tire pressure indicators were showing a range from about 42psi to 53psi. I thought that was odd. I called them and was told the sensors would adjust after a short drive. Wrong! 15 miles later, when I got home, I checked with a digital guage. The 42-53 was accurate. Seriously?! This is a tire store. It’s their damn business. How does this happen? How many people have been sent off with grossly under or over inflated tires and those people never knew it? Hey, DT - you got an “F” on this one.
A month or so ago, I scheduled an appointment to have the snow tires removed. When I showed up at my appointed time, I was told there would be about a hour and forty-five minute wait before they could get to it, because they had gotten ‘very busy that day’. But, wait a minute, what happened with my damn appointment, that I have had for 2 weeks? Eventually, I was about to leave when they got me in (They must have been reading my mind). They sent a kid out to get my R1T and he didn’t even know how to drive it. What the heck? In the shop area, the music was playing so loud that I almost had to yell to communicate to the staff about my car. It was more like a rave than a professional business. It was crazy. I don’t even know how anyone could work in that environment. Definitely, not confidence inspiring! When I got home, one of the valve caps was missing. Another “F” for DT.
Seriously - sending customers off with grossly improperly inflated tires and missing valve caps?! If they had turned the FN music down, maybe they could have concentrated on the job at hand a little better. I definitely lost confidence in this Discount Tire shop and will be looking elsewhere for future work. If you do use this shop, I would pay very close attention to the work being done.
No worries! I'm a huge Discount tire fan as well. They recently mounted and road forced balanced my Model S Plaid's wheels and tires from Signature, without issue. I use the Renton/Tukwila, WA location.Logical, @jebinc, and I know it's frustrating to have been mistreated without immediate recourse, but I want to recognize the very positive things about Discount Tire's forum presence.
