R1 Update. Remember those?

I hope so, ever since the current version, my entire vehicle reboots within a minute of starting a drive about 80% of the time. Full both-displays reboot, including not showing rear camera or speed. (Which I'm pretty sure is illegal.)

That's your vehicle, not the update.
Mine has never done that. Same software.

Updates are amazing but I would take quality of the release over quantity and timing anyday. If the software isn't ready don't release it, if there are things to be added or fixed, wait. What glaring thing are we missing that an update must be done to provide?

Man, I feel so bad for some of you guys out there - I must be the luckiest late R1T owner for literally never having an issue that wasn't immediately solved with an occasional screen soft reboot. I was fretting while falling down the long-term maintenance thread rabbit hole about all these folks burning $$$ on suspension, motors, software, etc, but mine has never done anything but work as intended for 48k miles now.

I parrot the Lef's post above, what else do we really need right now?

Still several things missing from OS 2.0 for feature parity. I'd be surprised if they released it to R1 owners with anything obvious still missing. Rivian Assistant being the biggest one, since R2 doesn't even have a voice assistant at all right now.

to your point, quality - the assistant sucks - 2+ years and they remove Alexa, which sucked, and replace it with the virtual assistant ever. It is worse than Alexa from 7 years ago.

Hard disagree. But you know Alexa is still there, right? Go back to her and then see if you feel the same way about Rivian Assistant.

I'm just deeply disappointing the next R1 release doesn't contain [insert esoteric feature request here] that every other vehicle worth this much money comes with.

They need a Gen3 refresh on the R1 units pretty quick - and much of that should be to simply include the bells and whistles on the R2.
