R1S Complete Suspension Replacement

Like others, I was getting the “service suspension system soon” warning. The vehicle was not handling bumps in the road very well and was going into turtle mode at least once a week.

The service center took in the car saying they would be able to get to it in a couple of days and the repair would take 2 days. Long story short, I got the car back 3 1/2 weeks later after the entire suspension was replaced.

I was told there was a bubble in the lines which caused the pump to overheat which then put metal into the lines. The service contact said the pump, lines and all 4 dampers were replaced and so far, the car is doing much better. Thank goodness this was under warranty!

That is the one thing about Rivian that is amazing. If there is a drivability issue, they will get it in ASAP.

It sounds like for all the work they did, 3-1/2 weeks wasn't bad!.

Was there any cost listed even though it was under warranty. Curious how much this would be out of warranty.

They didn’t share any cost figures with me, but they did share that it was 20 hours of labor plus parts. Also, a friend of mine shared the cost to do similar work on a Merc is $9k to $11k

I'm apparently having the same issue with my 2023 R1S. Intermittent Service Suspension Soon messages which works disable ride height adjustment and collision detection, but world clear with hazard reset. Truck has been in service for over 3 weeks, pending parts for total suspension replacement from suspension fluid contamination. Service rep said it's not uncommon. Tahoe loaner is just not the same...

Really want an R1, Standard height, gas shock suspension…or just R2. Hurry, Rivian! Before my warranty runs out! ?.

SC just messaged me that all 4 dampers will be replaced. I was getting "service suspension soon" with no drive modes and limited to 51mph. This was morning after I washed it from a weekend camping. I didn't notice anything off about the suspension fwiw.
Should be ready next week. Still under warranty so I pray for no surprises, but I haven't seen a work order yet.
Jounce lines were replaced in April, perhaps the bright side is she's getting closer to a Gen 2 suspension.

I think they are around $4000 each to replace.....hence, why I purchased an extended warranty, now that I'm over 60K miles.

yup! I had a leaking air bag I paid outside of warranty. Went and bought an extended warranty after that !
