So I have a fiscally responsible (aka cheapskate) R1S Explore edition preordered (6/19), for which the delivery window is 1st half of 2023. Given all that's going on, when do you think first deliveries will actually occur? Optimistically, I could see some of the current issues (supply chain etc) being fixed/mitigated by the end of the year, but pessimistically, I can extrapolate from the promised delivery windows to the lack of any deliveries to date for any R1S and see things dragging into 2024...
On a related note, are there any delivery windows earlier than 2023 for the R1T Explore?

There are no delivery windows before 2023 for any explore R1.

that could change at any time though

I suspect if there is any chance Rivian can ramp up production on R1 than currently forecasted, they would rather build and deliver more Adventure versions that have been ordered more recently than move up pre-ordered Explore versions.

more likely for there to be some constraint with adventure/LE that makes producing explore models sooner favourable.

I can see my 1H23 moving to 24 (Aug 21 reservation) but yours may be pushed back only 6 months. With all the hiring and ramp up efforts, burn rate for Rivian has been increasing and there is more pressure to keep the money flowing in. Adventure and LE have more in common and as long as they have those reservations waiting, they can pump out more EVs faster and the fact that they are more expensive does not hurt. If we see more Post March reservations delivered, that would be the sign that Explore will be kicked to the curb even more.

There has not been any estimates that have not been pushed back. So if they stick with this one, it will be out of norm.

Of course this is assuming Rivian can still get Chinese parts despite our deteriorating relationship and pandemic issues.

I have always been a pessimist. Less disappointments that way. That said I have no idea what I just said is a pessimist view or optimist.

I suspect they may try to get explore version customers to upgrade to adventure to maximize profit. They have demand and the prices are still too low. So I would be it's going to be 2024 before we see Explore versions of either model.

Not expecting mine until 2024. I don't even remember if the email said 1st or 2nd half 2023 because I'm pretty sure it's not happening anyway lol.

In addition, just picked up a performance Model Y this past weekend in the interim, so when the car feels like coming is fine with me. I'll enjoy romping the Y everywhere haha :D.

Wow - looking at the poll results - that's a rather large spread of anticipated dates! Not sure what that says about the current state of hopes and expectations.... :)

It says, not many are counting on Rivian communication. My worry is Explore will have the same faith as the 5 seat option for R1S and folks will find out at the final hour, it simply doesn't exist.
