R1S ONLY: October 2022 Delivery Estimate Updates

I’m a Feb 2021 reservation. R1S, Forest Green and Ocean Coast. Just bumped from 1st half of 2023 to July-Sept 2023. Really bummed.
Sure hope there isn’t a trend of post-March 2022 orders being delivered sooner.

Can you blame them? Selling something that has a 20K or 30%+ asset valuable is totally stupid and I think we can all appreciate that. Who runs a business like that...

I was not in their shoes, but they could have handled that better - pay more get it faster, etc. The whole situation feels very bungled, and they likely will continue to sell R1T's at full price at a priority.

I think I would, and why sell to a customer under value - who does that? When I have really screwed up I have given discounts - but not to a whole major batch of customers. Now you risk having an entitled and angry group - worst type of customer.

I wonder is they just going to slow roll the entire R1S line, so even full price buyers get the double bad end of stick

They want us to jump ship is my guess. Not enough production, we are $20,000 under current price. This may have something to do with how they handle us. Pre-order 2/3/19, LE

I'm a fairly early pre-order at 2/2020 and standard config. Silver, BM, Adventure, 21's. I'm in Denver with a service center and my delivery estimate just bumped from 1st half 2023 to Jan-Dec 2024. I'm pretty shocked that such an early pre-order would now be in 2024. It makes me wonder if I'm blacklisted for some reason because I have two orders?

I think that what pushed you back, and myself too, is 1) being an R1S and 2) the LA Silver.
I am a 10/20 reservation, R1S ADV, LA Silver, OC, 21. I was 1H 2023 and now am 2024. I am about a 2 hour trip to the closest SC. We seem to have faired more poorly than many others.

11/2021 R1S preorder slated for delivery to the Big Island of Hawai’i.

January - December 2024

Guess they’ll understandably take a while to get service to Hawai’i.

Took delivery of my R1T in Phoenix on 9/11/2022. That was originally a Max pack order but I got impatient. I’m really happy to have my truck now.

Different topic for an R1S thread, but since R1T Max Pack and my Hawai’i R1S reservation are on the same timetable, I’ll be going back and forth between two configurations for all of 2023 and drive my wife nuts. If I grab the R1T Max Pack, I’ll get it delivered to Phoenix and ship my current R1T to Hawaii.

April ‘19 reservation. Was May-June, then Oct-Dec. Now April-June ‘23. Yellow / BM / 20’ Black / Underbody. I’m in LA, with the local service center set as my delivery address. I suppose the yellow batches are coming later.

By now I should probably be past the point of feeling anything about these delays, but I’m not.

You might be on to something on the LA Silvers being pushed further than most…

Bumped from “1H ‘23” all the way to “Jan-Dec ‘24”.

I realize there are those that have been waiting longer than I, but I’m rapidly losing both excitement and faith in Rivian. If I had never heard of the company, I’d have an extra ~$6.5K in my pocket (IPO participation cut in half) and be driving a new truck long ago.

Oct-Dec to Feb-Mar. Frustrating for sure especially with a basic configuration, but I know im still lucky since Im not that early of a preorder. Still though, this gives me ZERO confidence again that they will actually hit this new delivery window. They clearly are not good at anticipating production.

Same here. 3/20 preorder. GW, LE, 21", OC, Boston service center... first half 2023...now July-Sept 23

12/19 pre-order. LE R1S Midnight, BM, 22” bright. Close to the Plymouth SC.

Pushed from June-July 2022 to Oct-Dec 2022 and now Jan-Feb 2023.

Not happy, but I guess it could have been worse. My sympathies go out to those far from SCs and Max Packs. FWIW, based on my experience with my R1T, it WILL be worth the wait, I promise.

Anecdotally, I’m not seeing any R1S orders that haven’t confirmed config still scheduled for 2022. There must be a push coming for EDV and R1T. Also, I think they went a bit conservative on the windows so they can under promise and over deliver.
