Got a R1S Adventure Quad beginning of June, 2024. The following week it broke down with coolant issues (374 miles on OD). It was towed to the Gaithersburg MD SC. After two weeks in service I picked it up. I was told by the Service Advisor, that the coolant was under filled at the plant.

Picked the truck up on 6/10 and all was well. Yesterday my wife and I were heading out for a date and the truck pulled itself over on the highway (295 in DC). Coolant issues again. Waited two hours for a tow and its back in service (592 miles on OD).

Hope its not a lemon.

Sorry to hear this. Very frustrating.
I’ve had one service experience at Gaithersburg and it went pretty good. Hope they fix it this time.

The coolant reservoir is located under the top plastic panel on the passenger side of the frunk rear of the washer fluid fill cap. You can carefully pull those panels off to access the coolant tank. I had a small, gradual coolant leak due to (I'm told) a bad seal in the coolant pump and I got an on-screen notification that the coolant level was low. I've yet to find the time to be able to have it serviced, but the mobile tech came and topped off the coolant. He was unable to tell me anything about the type of coolant used by Rivian. Seems odd that you can't just purchase coolant.

Bummer. Sorry to hear. Since you're on your 2nd time around with this, I'd maybe start looking into the lemon law in your State.

Typically after 3-4 attempts you can start putting the idea of filing for a lemon on the table of options. There was a guy on YouTube where Rivian swapped out this R1S for a new one due to some mechanical issues so it's possible. He just had to keep on top of it and nag them, but ultimately Rivian did what was right.

Best of luck. ?
