Heard from guide Midwest deliveries are taking priority from here on out / proximity to Normal plant. Outside of that expect January. At least the tax credit limits delayed till March, even with BPA some more peace of mind.

If you signed the binding purchase agreement you can just take the rebate in 2023…

I, for one, am more than skeptical about the binding agreement actually working.

dec-jan window is now firmly January for us who don’t have steps yet. I’ve completely given up on the rebate at this point.

Dont count yourself out just yet. I got 8 steps and delivery notice 4 days later. However if you dont hear by next Monday there is a good chance its 2023 delivery...

I recall reading a Q&A somewhere where XPEL said it was actually their employees wrapping the optional front end films at the Rivian factory in Normal. I wonder if it's their people wrapping the gear tunnel doors too or is that being done by Rivian employees since every vehicle gets those wraps?

Most likely this is the answer, however I only paid $200 more to have the same config done with edges wrapped locally (Plus $100 for front lights, $200 to remove/replace gear tunnel PPF, and $100 to do door sills). If you can find a similar place to wrap edges, the $200 difference is nothing, and the difference in appearance is massive. Wrapped edges from an XPEL dealer comes with a 10 year warranty as well, from XPEL not the dealer.

For the CO watchers, just got 8 steps opened and a pickup scheduled in Denver for Friday. Just have to get through the documentation from a beach in Mexico and survive a 120 degree temperature swing tomorrow

Don't worry, my guide had no info, then I just randomly got emailed that the 8 steps are open, and I can schedule delivery. It would seem either my guide was clueless or someone cancelled with my exact config, so don't lose hope.

You were right! 8 steps opened in the evening yesterday! Guide says that the truck just wrapped production and is still in Normal so not looking likely by the end of the year unless they toss it on a truck and haul ass to Minneapolis. No option to schedule delivery yet, guide says likely second week of Jan for delivery.

Now I need to sell my Tesla ASAP...

I've already talked to my accountant and there is no issue - I'll just take the credit in 2023 with the binding purchase agreement.

Prepare to be dissapointed with trade in values, they were insanely low. I'm gonna try to sell it myself. Picked up my Rivian last night, probably won't have time to list my Tesla until after the holidays.

I've already gotten disappointing trade in bids, seems like everyone is flush with expensive inventory now and not looking to add anything new unless it's an absolute steal to them.

Just posted to facebook to private party sell it, hopefully it goes fast.

Yes you take the credit in the year you put the vehicle in service, so 2023.

Got access to the R1 shop today. Didn't ask for, it but I'll take. Picked one out (vin 16xxx) very close to what I had reserved LA Silver, OC, 21s and spare. I was waffling between 21s and 20s... 21s w/spare? I'll take it!
My original res date is Jan 22, confirmed 11/11/22.
