I don't get it either unless... someone is paying for silence? I mean, he could at least say how fast, straight or turn, donuts, was the recall completed on this T, etc.
Exactly. He will post on FB that a brand new off road adventure truck will “flip easier than you think”, but refuses to answer any basic questions other than it rolled 3/4 going left to right. If he’s worried about any comments he makes beyond the original post on FB, then don’t log in here to defend yourself with even more vagueness.

If he weren’t at least somewhat blaming the truck/ Rivian why would there be any reason to call them and have engineers come look at the truck? AND to tell everyone that is happening? The obvious implication there is that it wasn’t 100% his fault. By omitting any description of what HE was actually doing yet saying Rivian is looking at it, he gets to keep playing this game where he can pretend he can’t say more.

Yup. I don't know why you would make a post about a situation and then refuse to tell details. Only explanation that makes sense to me short of some grand Rivian conspiracy is that he thought by telling his story people would get the pitchforks out and start getting angry at Rivian/ giving him sympathy but instead everyone went Occam's Razor on him and assigned blame where it made the most sense.

So now he's distancing himself from the post but yet somehow still trying to defend himself which would have been less attention grabbing had he just not said anything.

Just adding my 2-cents. Had a converted 4x4 van full off road with winch bumper/ winch and lifted chassis.
Got in a situation where it pulled into a 45 degree sloped shoulder (wheel caught) never flipped it sideways.

Had it caught in eroded wheel ruts going in a steep descent and the rear wheels were coming off the ground every time I braked - never flipped it.

Although not impossible, in my offroading participation, I've seen plenty of crazy situations, but not one where a person put their vehicle on the side or on the roof.

Realistically I'd say the R1's have a lower center of gravity. So I think one would need to work damn hard to get it turned over if driving at a normal speed.

could the insufficient torque (recall) have resulted in aggressive showing off causing this guy to flip?

How about one of the clunky, noisey, half falling out CV shafts completely falling out?? HA!

He was distracted while driving and trying to find the CarPlay menu.

Well the Mustang does have a driveshaft safety loop, so that breaking a U joint won't flip the vehicle, unlikely a broken short CV shaft would flip a vehicle, as it must get past the lower suspension arm, then have enough length protruding to do so. (Don't see anything hanging under the chassis in the pics)

I've also spun the Mustang a few times at the track and never flipped it (other damage but kept the oily side down)

If I wanted to flip a low center of gravity vehicle, I'd want to get it going very fast, then turn sharply and hope the tires caught soft soil or a solid object like a curb or barrier.
Might also be able to get it to go by setting up a high-speed suspension oscillation, back and forth swinging the steering wildly, although likely you'd feel the wheels start to lift first (which should allow you to regain control.)

This guy’s “I didn’t do anything dumb - vehicle is defective” is just embarrassing.

Pretty clearly was doing some high speed donuts in the field and either hit a rut or had a wheel hit a soft spot.
Well, that will probably hold up in some parts of North Carolina

So let's straighten up a couple of things:

1. The truck did not "suddenly roll". I never said that. I said it "unexpectedly rolled". If I had an inkling of a reservation about it rolling I would not have driven into the field.

2. There is nothing in any pictures online that show the truck path, or anything about what happened. It rolled from the left relative to any picture online and never traveled at all on anything in the right of these pictures.

3. Rivian was contacted by me and I asked them to look at the crash data and "explain to me what I did wrong". I told them exactly what happened. They downloaded the crash data and called me next day to ask if they could send engineering to the site to walk through it with me.

4. Engineers were out there very quickly, looked at everything they could find data-point wise as well as my exact experience.

5. My insurance received the same information and ruled me at fault hence the collision designation on the iia listing.

6. I'm not blaming Rivian, never have. Rivian initiated everything about getting engineering to investigate everything.

7. I was driving so it's my fault, I can accept that.

8. You don't have details because if I share anything about the situation particulars while Rivian is also investigating their data that's just bad business on my part.

9. If you think daddy bought this truck for me then feel free to call me Daddy sonny.

Now that is one helluva way to make an entrance. Glad you are ok.

I've rolled a car sliding off an oily freeway on ramp going to fast around the corner. It didn't take much. I landed on the wheels. A friend of mine rolled his 4runner doing donuts on a mud flat and I've been with many trucks that flopped on the side 4wheeling. All the 4wheelers drove home. I've seen much worse and less. Pretty obvious to me what happened.

If the tonneau cover works on that truck after a rollover, but needs to be disabled for others because dust and leaves jam it up, then I officially give up on trying to understand this universe:CWL:

Rivian support has helped me out with several issues, so I hate to be too critical, but based on my experience:

- Me: My phone won't pair as a key with my R1T.
- Rivian: After a thorough analysis we have determined that your phone is not compatible with the R1T.

- Me: My R1T did not work at a Chargepoint DC fast charger.
- Rivian: After a thorough analysis we have determined that this charger is not compatible with the R1T.

- Me: I rolled my R1T in my field.
- Rivian: After a thorough analysis we have determined that your field is not compatible with the R1T.
