R1T roof shade installed

Thought I'd post a few pics around the below sunshade. It's on Amazon and it's a great fit on the r1t. Sucks I only got it now after summer, but will store it away for next summer. It fits snugly around the moonroof and looks high quality.

Am I one of the few who really don't want to cover the glass?
I don't even feel any real radiant heat coming in thru the EXTREMELY tinted roof panel.

I had ceramic coated tint installed to the perimeter windows and that's brought ambient daily temperatures down significantly. When I park, I have a shade for the windscreen. I just don't think covering the roof glass is necessary, to be honest.

I'm the same way. I live in Southern California and it gets pretty hot sometimes.

My family nor I are bothered by the sun shining directly in. It is tinted enough where you can easily stare right up at the sun. I'd say if you're parked outside in the hot sun for an extended period, it is hotter inside than my prior 2022 Tesla Model S which had a VERY dark glass roof. So dark, it might as well have been opaque. But 30 seconds with the AC on and its fine.

Which reminds me....isn't the Rivian supposed to turn the climate control if it gets really hot inside? I don't think I've ever had it turn on. My Tesla would have it turn on all the time once it hit 105 inside.

Texas, maybe you have a point, but you do know even PA gets heat waves, right? We had a few days north of 100 this past summer where Thor was outside, and it may have crested 109 in the cabin, but a couple of minutes with the air on and the cabin was comfy...so... just my experience.

I was comparing Texas to sub-sharan Africa, in terms of the recent heat wave. I was not aware PA got that hot too. Cheers.
