R1T Tailgate Stuck Closed - Suspected Latch Motor Failure

I searched a bit and found a bunch of tailgate issues where the tailgate would not latch properly, but didn't find anything about a tailgate stuck closed. I've never had an issue with mine in 18+ months but went to open it at the grocery store today and it would not release. Unfortunately, I have a manual tonneau cover installed so the bed is entirely inaccessible for now. I've tried pulling on it every which way while pressing the button without any luck and a hard reset didn't change anything.

See video - it sounds like the driver's side latch is releasing ok but the passenger side sounds like the motor or whatever releases the latch is not operating properly and is preventing me from opening it. Fortunately I already have a mobile service visit scheduled for a week out but it's a real pain not being able to use my truck as a truck. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I had that same problem. Time for a service center visit.

DO NOT -- DO NOT -- Attempt to use the interior escape button if you do gain access to the bed. This will make the truck alarm until you can get it fixed.

My next step would be to somewhat violently shove the tailgate forward on either side while someone presses the release button, a few times.

I had the same issue. Stuck open and closed. A mobile service to fix the latches took are of it.
