It'd be user friendly if they did include the strap or at least a slot/latch where we can install our own. Alternative is to just walk to the side of the vehicle and grab the hood at a lower point.
Based on the R2 on display in Austin, the frunk opens to about 6 feet at the front edge on its own. It's about perfect for me, at 5'11", to lean over the bumper without hitting my head on the latch. It can be opened wider if you push on it (the back corners look like they might hit the windshield but they do clear). It opens maybe another 6-12" this way.
My 5'3" wife was able to hit the rear liftgate button easily, and I think would have no trouble at least grabbing the frunk's latch if not the actual hood. I actually preferred grabbing the latch myself. With two free hands, it's very easy to bring it down using the latch and seat it with your other hand. With just one hand, you have to do a quick reposition to get your hand out of the way and put your palm on the hood before it springs back up, but it's not too hard.
