Rivian never said that the R2 and R3 can only use their proprietary options. Not sure why you keep saying this.

Mainly to re-use all my existing accessories that I already have for my Tesla MY, R1T and R1S (they are all interchangeable due to their hitches); bike rack, baskets, boxes, etc, rather than adding a whole new Rivian attachment system introduced with the R2/3s. I'm running out of room for all these accessories

The claim is stay adventurous, can't do that without your tear drop or hitch mount accessories, same reason many of us are clamouring for more range ( to stay adventurous).

I’m sure you will be able to use your existing accessories with an R2.
