Yes it would if it is used for test and evaluation duty. Anything from software to hardware. It's owned by the manufacturer they can do whatever they want. There are no laws governing that. It's already wrap since lord knows when. Why waste employee time removing it?
Yeah, if those older mules are still good for those purposes, I see your point.

From the short video (probably an iPhone live photo) the car looks slightly different than an R1, and the size comparison to a model Y is an indicator that this vehicle must be smaller than an R1... right? Am I trippin?
Trippin on drugs.

This is just an R1S.

But those (Broncos) look nothing alike…
Disagree. While "exactly alike" was an exaggeration, "nothing alike" is equally an overstatement.

They certainly look like vehicles from the same family, except one is smaller and has less features.

Maybe you feel different, that's cool. Still my prediction on roughly what we will get with R2.

I think it's most likely a R1, but why would it be wrapped like that this long after launch? Even if it's a test mule for OTA update or the standard range battery pack, there's still no reason to disguise.
They never took the wraps off the old test mules. I think this is just one of them, presumably they've swapped out the drivetrain and stuff on it for other testing and it's basically just and old body with the old wrap.

Specifically, I think it's this R1S as the plates match

Sure, it's not an R2. Sure, I'm crazy for thinking it was. Sure, I might be tripping ballz and Xzibit is clowning me...

But for one fleeting moment, I felt that old late '20/early-'21 joy of spotting our precious in the wild. Thank you for that, @Preoccupy7513 .

Using @Zoidz's images, and license plate as rough units of measure, no question it is the same R1S that's been photographed countless times; even with taking higher camera angle of unwrapped R1S into account.

That’s taken near my house a mile from Rivian HQ which is to the left in the pic. Looks like an R1 to me too
