I had the same issue a couple times with the camp speaker randomly grabbing my phone when it's locked in the truck and should presumably be off. I don't plan to use it so often that I need it paired to my phone, so I've unpaired it. Would love a more "positive" fix for this.

I was having same issue so I ended up having to forget my camp speaker in my phone's blue tooth options. Not difficult to link with the camp speaker so this to me was the best option as it eliminated the random linking problem.

I’ve only used the camp speaker one time - just to try it out. Pretty much find it useless. But, I was camping this week and sleeping in my RTT. At random times during the night, I would hear the camp speaker wake up - very annoying. Like you, the only solution was to completely ”Forget This Device” in my iPhone Bluetooth options. I wish I could have forgotten this device when I ordered my R1T ?

I use it weekly when I’m washing the cars. I just have to connect and forget the device each week. Annoying but a quick and simple workaround

The speaker is a finicky PITA.

I removed it entirely. Use it as a home and travel speaker only. Charge via USB-C.

Purchased the fingerprint scanning drawer to replace the speaker.

Life is much better now.

I use it regularly and it works flawlessly. What I learnt was, shut off the speaker after using? I normally do long press after using and it gives a shutdown noise (3-4 sec perhaps and gives a shutdown chime/sound as part of the turning off). Try it out! Cheers

That doesn’t work for me. It still comes back on while docked & locked, and reconnects to my iPhone and starts playing. Perhaps the reason why you don’t have the problem is the car is parked far enough so the speaker is not able to see your playback device?

Any reports of successful fixes for zombie speakers? It's returned to random activations. No phones are connected, just turning itself on.
just got gen2 trimax yesterday, and having same issue. It actually looks like they gave me a used camp speaker? The top (buttons surface) was kinda dirty.

Turns on by itself randomly, had to unpair my phone so it stopped snatching the audio.

I hope Rivian is working on fix for this? I noticed it randomly turning on in the car while docked, and car is sleeping.

edit: it often shows up in Bluetooth devices even though it is not in pairing mode. For everyone near by…

This is why I removed my camp speaker from the truck. Didn’t have any use for it anyway.

I removed mine over a year ago and it gathers dust at the cabin. I've only tried to use it once since then, even after charging it, it was a PITA to get connected to it. Mystery button sequences, too loud starting, too quiet playing... I'm happy to give it away if someone wants it.
