Love the look of these- can someone with a Gen2 R1T confirm these will install without issue? I've seen that the EV base and EV sportine ones are incompatible- so hesitant to pull the trigger until can verify a successful install on a Gen2.

Just pulled the trigger!!! I am not the most "mechanical" guy but I will definitely give a try! In the event that I get stuck is there an installation shop @RealWheelsEV can recommend around Ft.Lauderdale, FL??? Just in Case???

Bought a set in black for the r1t. The main reason was the stainless material. It would be nice if there was an aluminum version to further reduce weight. Hint-hint! ?

I installed these last week, and am very happy with them. It's really easy following the video, as long as you have the tools. The "hardest" part is the panels.

Excellent packaging and shipping - belts & suspenders & safety pins!! Other manufacturers would do well to copy their technique. ?
Straightforward install - the YouTube video is excellent.

and one design change that will make install easier - the flange that mounts to the body can be shortened (essentially a 45-degree cut where the flange cantilevers from the bolt head/body) to let the plastic trim piece sit closer to the body so that the spring clip fits like stock. i have a workaround with a trim clip to close the gap.

fyi - anyone with bestevmod mud flaps will have to modify the mudflaps to fit.

Funny thing is that Rivian service center tried to charge me for taking off the running board to get access to the jack points… I told them RealWheelsEv stated running board should not interfere with jack points at all. And people on the forum don’t have issues either.. Rivian SC now says they will take care of it.

If you guys experience this kind of issue. Please just refer Rivian SC to RealWheelsEv statements about the jack points.
just getting a tire rotation and SC wanted $400 to take off and put back on… said mount points were blocked…. Does anyone have official word from RealWheels EV….. link to a page on their site?

I have a gen 2 and just installed these last weekend. They went on perfectly. I even got complemented by the guys at the SC when I was getting some warranty work done.

I am planning (assuming the Country doesn't implode) on purchasing an R1S in 2025; probably in the fourth quarter. Right now my target is the R1S Tri Max.(Somewhat less likely but possible: Quad Max or Dual Max.) To help alleviate angst from my innate impatience, I've already started "window shopping" for accessories. Your "RW400-1BP-R1S" running boards (RBs) are high on the list. (I have examined your website and installation video. Good job on that.) Some comments and questions (which I will share here, for the benefit of new readers of this Thread, like me; apologies if already covered elsewhere):
  1. My main objectives are four-fold: (a) for added reach (to roof areas) while hand-washing and dealing with car cover and cargo, (b) for easier access to the cargo area (with rear seats flat), and (c) easier entry/exit for shorter passengers. In addition, might there be (d) some slight added protection to the lower doors from minor side-scrapes and road debris thrown up by the front tires? Do those objectives sound unreasonable or problematic?

  2. Will your R1S running boards also fit Gen 2 R1S? (I notice that some running board sites differentiate between Gen 1 and Gen 2. Was there a change to the R1S under-carriage--e.g., bolt locations or plastic panels-- from Gen 1 to Gen 2?)

  3. I plan to get the optional OEM All-Terrain Package that includes an added "Reinforced Underbody Shield." Will such an OEM 'skid plate' interfere? with RB installation?

  4. As others have commented, what attracts me is the quality stainless steel construction (as reflected in the higher price). However, S/S is heavier. Are their plans to offer your RBs in other, lighter yet still strong materials--e.g., aluminum or other alloys--in the near future? Any other design changes planned? (Powder-coated black bolts would be nice.)

  5. BTW, a minor gap between the RBs and base of the car does not concern me and may prove beneficial.

  6. A holiday sale or Rivian Forums discount will always be appreciated. ( :) ).
Thank you.

We have Realwheels stainless boards on an r1t and evsportline boards on an r1s. Anyone that lives where snow falls should really consider Realwheels because the tread is night and day difference from the evsportline. Where the evsportline was super slippery with snow (to the point that we stepped over the boards to enter &exit the vehicle…kinda defeats the purpose of the boards), the Realwheels had traction with snow.

The only suggestion would be to double the number of raised treads (at least on the outboard side of the board) because a shoe/foot can squeeze between the treads when entering/exiting. More treads would eliminate having to purposefully place a foot atop a tread.

The inboard treads may not be necessary because it’s difficult to get leverage/traction near the body (and if the board was flat at the body, a washmitt wouldn’t get caught on the tread). ?

After much research, I finally decided to order a set of the Rivian Stainless Steel Running Boards for R1T/Truck (Stealth Black). Like everyone else, they shipped right away—later the same day, in fact. I expect them to be delivered tomorrow, and I can't wait to install them. I will submit pictures once I complete the installation.
