I'll confirm with the body shop when I go back in, but they did say they get the parts direct from Rivian. It might be as you say because there really aren't any third party manufacturers yet, but based on your experience I'll be sure to check again with them and the insurance companies.
Well it should be indicated on your final estimate paperwork.

OP - FWIW - I went through the same thing you're dealing with when my R1T was backed into (I'm in Colorado so not much input on auto body shops for you). But, the other half of the repair process is getting a rental car. Not sure you need a rental car, but when I was told 4-6 weeks for the repairs, the rental became pretty important.

The insurance company of the person who backed into my R1T said they would provide a "functionally equivalent" rental vehicle. So, I said "functionally equivalent" would be a 4WD truck capable of providing backup electricity to appliances in my home. So, they authorized me to rent an EV - I ended up with a Chevy Silverado EV through Enterprise Rental.

As a side note. My R1S was rear ended a few months back. State Farm sent me to a Riv certified repair shop(Chilton Autobody) who did impeccable work/ The bill to the other insurance co was north of 13K. Additionally, I got half that amount for diminished value(checks in the mail:):( .) San Jose CA area

Thankfully, I have a spare ICEV, so no rental needed. It's a 2014 Ford Expedition w/ 208k miles on it and since my daily commute is 100+ miles I have to fill it up every 4 days since it only gets 15 mpg. HATE having to stop at gas stations and 2 pedal driving. ☹ #1WP
