Putting it here as CS thought it was great idea but it doesn't exist. Yet. Maybe someone at Rivian will see this.

Friend who has a Tesla saw my R1T. She is going to order one today. She asked for my referral code. Referral code? I said. She said with her Teslas, when friends buy one they use her referral code and she gets free stuff. Sound like Rivian needs to join this party as we are selling these trucks whenever we get behind the wheel!

for sure, I have 2 friends who ordered after I told them about it. I would bet many of these early orders are from people like us who spread the word

I've referred 4 people who had never before heard of Rivian, and now have reservations because of me...So yes, I support this idea :)

Also approve. I live in a community where there’s tons of Range Rovers, tons of tradesmen with $$ for new pickups and nobody has ever heard of Rivian…

+1.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest that a referral code would sell more Rivians than their comms or marketing group.
Lol, sadly, I think you are correct.

Careful. They might get their truck before you. :)

I'll say I didn't get an early Tesla and basically around when I bought my M3 is when they drastically gutted the referral program - usually if I get into something it doesn't have one even though I usually sell a lot of people on stuff so, sorry guys. My referral repellant will keep it from happening.

I will be more than happy to get as many people into a Rivian without any goodies. The only thing I expect is to get mine without any issues and to be treated fairly after I pay for it. I consider the price guarantee more than enough. Of course I would not say no to such a program but I don’t think Rivian needs it if they nip the initial quality issues we are seeing in the bud.

I might be in the minority, but I really don't think RIVIAN needs a referral program. They are already backlogged with orders for 2 years and for owners who have received their trucks, they are all getting swamped everywhere they go.

I suspect demand will outpace supply for the next 3-5 years and RIVIAN is already bleeding money to get our trucks built, delivered, and serviced.

Any lost revenue RIVIAN would use towards a referral program has to come out of somewhere and the last place I want it to come out of is build quality, quality control, and customer service.

All of which are objectively miserable with Tesla.

I want RIVIAN to be exactly everything Tesla isn't.

So, thanks - but no thanks.

While I wouldn't mind some free swag a referral programs isn't necessary. They have enough backlog to last at lesat 2 years of production. In a post Tesla world one good post on Instagram, a well timed tweet, and word of mouth all cost Rivian far less to than implementing a true referral program.

I am happy enough with my pre-March 1 order discount. Rivian has enough orders for years, they are already losing enough money on the pre-March 1 orders, no need to add to it. I also don't feel like watching YouTube videos about the Rivian where people ask others to use their referral codes.

Would be cool to have referral codes if someday Rivian offered something like a LFP home backup battery. I think Tesla did something similar with Powerwalls
