Hey Gang,

I was wondering now with Connect+ offered as a subscription, what does that mean for features like remote cabin temperature setting?

I imagine this would only be available with Connect+ since the vehicle would need some sort of cellular connection to receive the temperature setting (unless the vehicle is connected to a home Wi-Fi or you are in nearby range to the vehicle).

Edit: I just also thought of this question, is there less vampire drain for folks who don't have Connect+?

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
The vehicle will still have an LTE connection, regardless of whether you opt in to Connect+ or not.

They stated officially what is included in Connect+ and what is not. Remote lock/unlock/climate is, IIRC, still available without subscription.

Just the high bandwidth functions will require Connect+ or wifi. IE streaming and image downloading.

Gotcha, so Rivian will still be “paying” for some sort of LTE service as a standard. Great news for customers! Maybe not great for Rivian’s margins ?

M2M cellular is ultra cheap, so not a huge expense. Possibly free as a deal to get paying users. Even my Zero EV motorcycle has a permanently free cell connection.
