Replacement Key Card insanity

2022 R1S Launch Edition
I purchased a R1S Launch Edition about a month ago. It didn’t come with the key card. Trying to get a replacement has been a nightmare. After 2 weeks of trying to get Rivian to respond, they tell me they can schedule me for Jan 16 2024 for a service appointment where I have to drive an hour to go pick up a card. This seems insane to me to wait two months for a replacement key which should have come with the 80k car. I mean they know the car and my address. Why on earth can’t they charge me and mail a new programmed key card to me in a hurry? I mean, coming from Tesla, I really see how terrible their service and support is so far. 3 months for another service issue. Say what you will about Tesla, but their service was top notch. I love the Rivian but am extremely underwhelmed by the lack of support. And then I get 4 phone calls to talk to me about my service appointment in 3 months. They better address this or it will turn off future customers when they see what’s in store for them as far as service

Are you the second owner? Pretty sure every Rivian was supposed to come with two NFC cards, and if you had a launch edition they will eventually ship the bracelet out, half programmed onto the vehicle.

I am pretty sure Rivian can set the cards up in your account and mail them to you for you to finish the activation. I'd push back on their request to drive to the service center. Possible whoever you are talking to just isn't fully aware that Rivian has that capability.

Yes, that’s what seemed like the logical solution to me. They had a supervisor call me and said exactly that after the other advisor told me I just had to wait. Just seems way more complicated than it needs to be. But thanks for the response - hopefully that’s what they end up doing.

I agree, I had them set up a wrist band and also remove some cards remotely over a phone call. I believe they said adding a card is the same as a keyband.

Why not like, engage the original owner?
I bought from a local dealership and they didn’t have them. I didn’t realize it would be such a big deal to get them, so I didn’t think twice about it. In hindsight, I should have.

Have the dealer reach out to the seller? Likely took it on trade

Rivian can drive to you and program the keycards using mobile service I think. They did program a wrist band for me that way. Probably the same thing can be done for key card. Guy was programming my wrist band using a laptop and cloud connection.
But why did you not have 2 key cards given to you at the time of delivery?
