Hopefully, Rivian stays independent and keeps a design department.

ICE only :(
Maybe Handelsblatt threw it up against the wall just to see if it would stick….?
Their source was probably this forum and all the day dreaming in that other thread. 😂

The big story from the German side is VWs lack of confidence in doing software development. If I was German this would concern me.

A Scout with Rivian software will cut into R2/3 sales. But obviously Rivian calculates a net positive.

This is what I expected when I heard. I'm sure VW is helping Rivian with their factory problems as well.

And before anyone makes a joke, my VW ID4 is 3 yrs old and has 50k miles on it. No build quality or reliability issues, and no rattles have developed. From a manufacturing perspective, VW did a really good job.
As a former ID.4 owner - there’s very few concerns about the build quality. It’s just everything else about their EVs that is terrible

I've enjoyed the car so far but I will say this: the software is absolutely dreadful, which is why I'm guessing this partnership will be a win for VW too.

Did you have any other issues with yours?

Software sucked. Hated the haptic butttons and just little asinine decisions like the window controls or having the skip forward button be the down button on the steering wheel. Just seemed like they put almost no thought into how someone would actually use or interact with the car.

a lot of the car stuff was good though. Thought the interior looked nice for the price point. Lots of space. Great turning radius
