My camp speaker does not connect. I have not been using it. The other day I brought it in and manually charged it. I tried a factory reset but nothing works. I have Samsung s23 altra and the camp speaker is listed as a blue tooth device. I have pressed the connect button of the s23 camp speaker button.

Any ideas? Rivian says it is no longer under warranty. It acts as if the battery in the camp speaker no longer can hold a charge.

You'll hear lots of hate for the Camp Speaker here. I agree that it has issues, but I kinda' like it, I think it produces great sound, and am happy to work around the quirks.

What I would suggest is to run through two or three cycles of charging it inside, where you fully charge it using USB-C, then discharge it, then repeat. That might help to refresh the battery?

From there, follow the earlier suggestion to "forget" it as a bluetooth device on your phone, then see if you can reconnect.

And in case it's helpful, I made this little cheat sheet (attached) a while ago to remind me of some of the important things and button functions with the Camp Speaker.

I had the same issue, I finally used in so I could listen to music while working on a new garage and the battery died. Then it wouldn't take a charge. It would work when plugged in, but the when you would get the battery status, it would light up green, but would shut off if unplugged. After several factory resets, it finally started to take a charge again, and I've had to do resets twice, because it happened again where it wouldn't take a charge.

Like others have said, try doing a factory reset...right when you plug it in and it starts to power up. After it resets, check the battery status, if it says green, but if you unplug it and it dies, do a reset again. Once it shows red for the batter status, then it will actually charge properly and hopefully work for a little while before having to do this again. Mine so far has been working now after a few resets. I still have to sometimes forget the device on my phone and re-pair it.

I have same phone. If i haven't used it for quite a while, the only way I can get it to work again is to remove it from my Bluetooth devices then rediscover it. That always works for me.

I gave up on mine almost 3 years ago. Awesome idea, had great sound the few times it worked. Always figured I'd replace it with a drawer but never got around to it.

Mine has been sitting in my garage for nearly 3 years, replaced by a storage drawer.
That said, many people miss the instructions that it has to be charged by plug-in separate from the truck (at least initially) as the charging point where it is stored only provides enough power to keep it topped off.

In addition to charging it from a plug, not in the dock, make sure you are not using a "smart charger" as well. I used a Samsung 45W USB-C power block and it wouldnt. I had to end up using a cheap little power block that was from some old electronic and plug a USB cable into that to get it to charge, and I think I left it plugged in a day or so. And yes, I have forgotten it numerous times...in fact, I generally forget the device after using it because I kid you not, I could lay in bed and hear the speaker turn on in the truck outside and I would look and my phone would be randomly connected. It is possessed, I swear!

Yes, it is a great speaker...when it works. It takes far too much maintenance and TLC IMO to be very practical.

I currently use a high power block to charge it (generic off amazon) and it has been working fine for me...it does seem to have a mind of its own and turns on randomly and just starts playing music.

Ironically, the Rivian product probably doesn't understand how to negotiate with the smarter charger that can adjust its voltage to make the charging more efficient.

The generic one probably provides a fixed voltage without PPS and the camp speaker just takes it.

My camp speaker was bundled with my R1S Quad Launch Edition. It was not in the car when I took delivery. Neither were the CCS1 adapter nor the key fob. The delivery specialist that said they would be shipped seperatky. The storage drawer was installead in place of the camp speaker. . When I got home from the service center, I found the welcome kit---with rhe key fob--waiting for me on my doorstep. The speaker arrived a few days later. I never installed the camp speaker; it's still in the shipping box. I like the storage drawer. I use it a lot, in lieu of a glove box.

Dumb question but just came to me - does Gen 2 still have the charging "port" for a speaker? Like, behind the drawer?
