I'm guessing they worked on this for a while - the address they show in the map screen mockup is a defunct-since-early-COVID restaurant. (Pok Pok, a Thai restaurant that became a chain that got a Michelin star at one of the locations before COVID shut them down. The shown address is their original location. Which, yes, is a converted house, like a lot of "houses on streets that became retail" in Portland.)

I dunno, the airflow-tracking aspect might be too much of a good thing: my dog gets cold easily. She starts shivering if the temperature drops below about 75F. I can imagine a dog locked in a vehicle working to find a spot where they aren't getting hit by blowing air. If the airflow tracks the dog, this might cause frustration!

However, some sort of critter-cam would be awesome! I have three "Furbos" set up around my house. These allow me to watch the animals (and, incidentally, the rest of the house--one of mine is set up so that it can monitor the water heater as well as the litter box and the cats' food bowl) when we're away from home. Two of the units also allow me to remotely toss treats. We're seriously considering getting a fourth unit and setting it up in the truck--it could easily and unobtrusively sit on the dash. Something built-in that accomplished this would be nice! (Rivian has removed the driver-monitoring camera already or that could have been repurposed to perform this task.)
Yeah, I agree. Our Tesla allows for the interior camera which provides us a bit more relief that our pooch is doing okay. Max time in car is 60 minutes for us, but not having the camera feature bugs me a bit.
I would also prefer to have more range of temps and airflow to select from as well.

I noticed that too. My office is on Division. I wonder what went into the choice to use SE PDX as their location example in this patent application. Whatever the reason, I found it pretty neat and unexpected.
