GA needs to get it’s sheit together, put together MOAR incentives, fast track their backwater approval and permitting, and beg Rivian to carry forth.

He didn't say "halting" or "pausing". He said that the R2 will be built initially at the Normal plant because the Georgia plant won't be ready to be built by Q1 - 2026.

How about GA or any other municipality that wants $billions of private investment in manufacturing jobs put together the same sense of urgency and real monetary incentives that cities make for a sports stadium?

Lean into them Rivian. Leverage your grand slam yesterday.

Make it so GA. Otherwise, SC, FL, TX, OH, PA or any other state will.

I wonder why they can't just start building the R2 sooner than 2026.. why not start early 2025 for a summer 2025 release or something? It looked like majority of the car is finalized..

It's good news, but I need info on the R1, refreshed or not. Not one mention of R1. Once the R2 ships, will Rivian kill the R1T? R1S? I have $1000 down and waiting for more information.

They will give you 10 R2 deposits for that one R1 deposit. Joking. You'll be fine. I doubt they will not fill an existing order as Rivian has been quite good about keeping its promises.

He did refer to the R1 as the flagship vehicle. So I'd guess they won't be killing it.

That's a really great interview. RJ all but confirmed that 800 volt is coming for R1 also. The way he dodged that question was hilarious.

I don’t think he confirmed 800v but just said new technology

They had no choice. They also need to start delivering R2 before the "1st half of 2026". That's pretty much two full years. It's concerning but I do have faith in the team at Rivian. They made the correct decision to pivot here.
