We've asked dozens of times before. They have said they have no plans for regular cruise control.'Like' this post if you want Rivian to give us regular cruise control when adaptive cruise control isn't available (like glare on the lense, sensors dirty from the truck that just went through a puddle in front of you, etc).
Are you saying you can’t get cruise control when you have glare on your window shield?'Like' this post if you want Rivian to give us regular cruise control when adaptive cruise control isn't available (like glare on the lense, sensors dirty from the truck that just went through a puddle in front of you, etc).
But tow mode isn't a discrete drive mode anymore. You can't have regular cruise when not towing.I'm confused too. I tow mode there's regular cruise with no braking I think.
There have been multiple times where glare has prevented ACC from engaging. Are you saying you can’t get cruise control when you have glare on your window shield?
In my G1 R1S my cruise works with the glare message, highway assist will not but cruise does, I just push the lever down once and it engages. Ran into this a couple of times on my last trip.
Cruise control while towing needs to be figured out! Extremely inconvenient and distracting that it’s disabled. I understand that it may be harder to calculate stopping distance, but with the weight calculation perhaps a top speed (like 60) could be implemented where cruise control disengages above a certain speed.'Like' this post if you want Rivian to give us regular cruise control when adaptive cruise control isn't available (like glare on the lense, sensors dirty from the truck that just went through a puddle in front of you, etc).
This is so incredibly stupid and pushes me towards Tesla/Ford/Chevy for a vehicle that can tow.Cruise control while towing needs to be figured out!
Yes, that is what I experience while towing also. The reason for this seems to be that, with a heavier load, the vehicle cannot accurately judge stopping distance. IMHO, that seems to be a terrible excuse for making the vehicle less safe and not even attempting to slow or stop when it can clearly detect vehicles ahead. Would much prefer if they displayed a big warning that the added weight might not allow adequate braking. Better yet, force maximum following distance and be more aggressive about braking early.I'm confused too. I tow mode there's regular cruise with no braking I think.
Bullshit. I mean, maybe Rivian's awful system can't, but many others can. The Rivian tells me how much the trailer weighs, and it could do the math. Additionally it has sensors that can change the braking force thousands of times per second. The reason for this seems to be that, with a heavier load, the vehicle cannot accurately judge stopping distance. Strange, just not my experience. I know the manual says the lines have to be visible for ACC but I have never had it not work. There have been multiple times where glare has prevented ACC from engaging.
