Look at your original price. They made the tonneau optional and dropped the price by 1500 so if you add them back in it equals what it used to be.
For Adventure tonneau is optional? So if we decline manual ($800) or powered ($1,500) the truck is delivered without any tonneau? I thought powered tonneau was included in Adventure build?

Guess that's why the base Adventure build for pre-March customers went from $73K to now showing $71.5K?

How much for FSD now ?

I was hoping that the option to delay an R1S for the "Max pack" would come out with this change, but sigh, nothing in sight.

This whole thing is making me wonder if pre-March 1 folks can get Glacier white for free, does that mean they can get Limestone for free too (same new price)?

No response to my email sent to Rivian regarding pricing glitches, not that I'd expect a response that fast. But It seems to be working properly now. Everything is properly selected, listed and priced now. Probably just change propagation delays and/or cache issues on the server side.

Still have a long wait for that max pack anyway....

My restored price shows the Explore package as $66,700. Wasn't it originally $67,500?
Base price was reduced by $800, since that's the cost for the manual tonneau cover which used to be included in the price and is now an optional add-on. Adventure package went down $1500 to account for the now optional powered tonneau.

Is anyone adding options due to the price increase and getting to add pre price increase add-ons?

It's tempting to "upgrade" wheels, add tent and kitchen, etc. But I am pretty sure I am not using the tent (as a family of 4) and I think I would prefer cooler box/picnic table and tail gate friendly dinning. So we would probably not keep camp kitchen (slide out is neat though, I could see using that for lift jack, tool boxes, and portable work shop).

I'm leaning towards keeping my original config (including powered tonneau), but is was very nice of Rivian to allow for config changes.

Side note: When we wanted to add options to my Tesla Model Y (5 to 7 seater and tow hitch) they forced all new pricing for even previously selected options (including FSD). I ended up cancelling and reordering without FSD. I understand having to pay current price for adding options but asking to pay more for FSD had us remove FSD from the new order.

In the end we spent less than if they just allowed adding 7 seat and tow hitch to the existing order at current price (which was less than FSD combined). Literally Tesla would not take more money to deliver the same physical assets.

I've heard that Tesla has since fixed this, maybe they realized they were losing revenue. In retrospect I am glad we didn't pay for the increased FSD price (we still have it and FSD Beta on our Model 3).

The addons available pre price increase should be at the old price.

Many people don't like roof top tents in practice. I find the slider is tempting. I think in practice I would find a kitchen attached to a vehicle limiting. I do think the kitchen was a great idea for marketing.

I curious how many experienced campers want the tent and kitchen? Or are people ordering these items more likely to be camping curious?

Personally, camping curious. Even with the rooftop tent and kitchen I think we will use it mostly for overnights along road trips instead of getting a room. If I can park at a charging station in a way that I could deploy the tent while charging and not affecting other chargers I'd take a nap. This depends on actual deployment speed of course and don't think I've seen any videos of full setup/takedown.

It also seemed like a good idea for re-sale but I'm not sure about that.

I'm an experienced overlander and I'll be getting both the tent and the kitchen.

RTTs are fantastic, they don't take nearly as long to put up and take down as some people think if you plan ahead properly (way faster than most ground tents from my experience, but I'm OCD about making sure I clear the space the tent has to go), I don't have to worry about finding a site that can fit my vehicle plus my tent footprint on a level surface, they keep you up off the ground and away from weather, bugs, and critters, etc. Everyone has their preference, but imo RTTs create a much better camping experience.

I've had numerous times where my schedule during travel to some overlanding area changed because I stopped to see a sight or whatever else. In those situations RTTs are fantastic. Find a quiet space where you're unlikely to be bothered, pull over, pop the tent, sleep.

I've literally slept in an RTT on the side of a highway before :D I wouldn't do that with a ground tent.

As for the kitchen, it's expensive compared to my usual kit, but I like that it's all self-contained, doesn't require me to carry fuels for cooking, and makes me feel safer when cooking in areas with burn bans or drought or other fire hazards. I've definitely camped several times where I didn't even feel comfortable firing up a propane grill because the area was so dry. Induction == no fire hazard :)

They're expensive options, to be sure. You could get an RTT after-market for cheaper. I'll be buying with my truck specifically to get the cheaper pre-3/1 pricing, and because both items will be covered under warranty if I buy them with the truck (at least this is my understanding. I need to confirm with Rivian since they've been delaying delivery of both and from what I've heard have had people removing it from order forms and paying for it later), and (again, assuming by the time my name is called they're available) the ability to directly finance them into the vehicle. I can make more profit investing that ~7500$ than I'll ever pay at ~2% interest on it, so hard to pass that up.

Mine too. Was restored an hour or so ago with the higher price and then like 20-30 minutes later the price reverted back as well

Having ordered a T and an S, the truck is the only vehicle to repopulate on Friday, April 1st. Customer SVC didn’t have much to offer, but it was the first time I spoke to a live person.
