Looking for insight on charging limits for my 2025 Rivian R1S Gen 2
R1S Dual Large Adventure Package
Battery - Large Pack
I charge using my hardwired 60 Amp Breaker using my Rivian Wall Charger set to 48 Amps .

For normal daily driving use (i.e. weekly driving under 150 miles per week) I've been told to charge up to 70% max and recharge at 20%.

For extended range I've been told to charge up to 85% max and recharge at 20%.

For max range I've been told to charge up to 100% max and recharge at 20%.

I was also told to periodically charge to 100%.

Any insights on battery conditioning?

I normally charge using the schedule from 9:00PM PST till complete.

Thanks for your guidance! If I'm doing this wrong, feel free to guide me...

While you are in town charging from home I’d just charge to 50-60% (unless you need more- I doubt it) and plug in every night

If you have a standard Pac, it is usually LFP. Which occasionally does need to be charged to calibrate readings.
I believe the large pack is NMC, which you do not need to put to 100% unless you want to.
On YouTube, there is a channel called engineering explained that does a very good job explaining the best charging practices for these packs.
In NMC it appears to distress the battery if it stays at 100% for a long time. Or goes below 30%. Smaller fluctuations tend to shrink and expand the battery less preserving its viability on the microscopic level. even with these good measures. It probably won’t make much of a difference during the lifetime of the vehicle.
For daily driving, I personally charge to 70% daily. Leaving the vehicle, plugged in to maintain the systems and the 12 V battery.

whether you charge at 48 A or less probably does not make much of a difference with regard to the chemistry. Because that is a relatively low charge rate regardless. I generally charge at about 30 A even though I can charge it 48 largely because it’s better for the other things going on in my house. Either way I wake up to my 70% charge.

Hope this helps. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of advice.
