Rivian R2 communication desert?

What’s the guess on the configurator going live? 3-4 months before production?

If they are on target for early 2026 then last qtr 2025, if later in 2026 the qtr before they are ready to deliver.

I’m hoping 4th qtr 2025 but have no clue really.

What’s the guess on the configurator going live? 3-4 months before production?

Hopefully, they learned from how Tesla did the configuration on the Model 3 (and other vehicles), as well as the blowback after the price increase on the R1T/R1S. For the Model 3, I didn’t get access to the confiurator until Tesla was ready to build my specific vehicle preorder. It took 7 weeks from when I got access to the configurator (submitted my order the same day) until I received my vehicle. That was 7 weeks to go through the whole production, QC, and delivery process half-way across the country.

At the time that I submitted my order, some options were not available (smaller battery, white interior, etc…). For people that wanted those options, while they had access to the configurator, they couldn’t submit an order because the desired options weren’t available.. That kept people from ordering configurations that were never going to be produced As production plans changed along the way.

Wait'll OP experiences their service system.
CRM remains Rivian's biggest obstacle to success. They do fine at attracting customers, then they do all they can to piss them off once on board...

Get a refund and move on with your life. The next two years is going to get worse if you're agitated already.
