On Electrafi, I have logged all my service logs and small maintenance such as air filter replacements, tire rotations, etc. I would love to have all that data imported over as well as my lifetime map, road trips, and drive summary.

Hi! New Rivian owner here (and 1st EV). What is the benefit to this data collection and reporting? Is it not already captured on the car’s onboard system?

It provides a history of all your drives and charges, and allows you to analyze them in a way that is not possible inside your Rivian. Many people don't care about how efficient a drive was, or how fast a charge was, but I like to track that data. For people like me this is a really cool service.

@Rivian Roamer, this looks awesome! Do you have any plans to offer a yearly membership plan instead of the current monthly? (hoping for a minor discount as a result of the year paid upfront)

Eventually, I address that here.

Basically, Rivian is likely going to launch an official API. That official API will come at a cost and until I know that cost I don't feel comfortable accepting an annual subscription from people as it would cause me to potentially bait and switch customers. I don't feel good about that.

Once I know pricing from Rivian, I'll certainly offer one!

I signed up for Roamer Plus the day it was publicly announced and have been super impressed. More so, I am excited to see how this offering evolves over time.

By the way, if you are not seeing the maps under the "Drive History", and are using a dedicated\secondary account for RR access, be sure you don't have the "Hide location" enabled within the Rivian app. I realize that most people probably just use their primary account for RR access, but I did run into this. It wasn't until @Rivian Roamer (politely) reminded me of this, during my troubleshooting.

Roamer Plus seems to be the latest\greatest feature, added to an already great platform of tools.
If you want to try Rivian Roamer and would like to use my referral code, please don't hestiate to PM.

Happy Adventuring!
Chris

Thanks for your kind words Chris. This is one of those edge case complexities of working around an unofficial API. As we speak working on a feature to notify people when they've denied location access to secondary accounts. :)

Damn, that puts a weird spin on it for me. I recently stopped using Strava because I learned that in the long run, the data was amusing but not valuable. Other than finally beating that one guy in my neighborhood on my favorite MTB downhill.

I have a suggestion: Your electric rate field should allow three decimal places.

Well worth the extra 5 bucks per month to see clear and concise data. Hoping that electric rate schedules will be added in the future. Peak pricing is killing us in CA!

I just got back from a 1300 mile road trip and have some feedback from the logs.

Overall, I really like it, and it gives some good information but here's some ideas for new features. Apologies to @Rivian Roamer if these are already in the works or beyond the scope.

1. Ability for the user to name a drive log or charge session
2. Addition of a comment field for the user to add notes
3. Ability for the user to change the pricing for each charge session rather than have the single price for everything. In addition to this maybe a drive uses the price from the previous charge.
4. Ability to overlay charging curves for direct comparison or see 5
5. Ability to export the data to excel
6. Is it possible to report the start and end mileage of a drive? I know we get the distance, but actual vehicle mileage might be useful in some cases.
7. An overall map of all charging locations and maybe drives, sort of like a flightmemory of your drives! This is a more out there request.

Again, the existing features have worked well (other than the drive mode bug), and I find it definitely worth the $5/month fee.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and think the price is worth it in value! I focused really hard on making sure I can set this up for long term success. I have so much data that isn't currently being presented that I can't wait to ship features for. Bering a customer now means much of that will retroactively come into existence when ready!

This is also all amazing feedback, some of it was already on the public roadmap, the rest I added! Thank you!

Any reason why one would want that level of precision?

Rate schedules are really complicated. It's on the backlog but I'll be honest. It's pretty low. Setting up a UI that works on desktop, tablet, mobile, app that allows for the level of flexibility people want would mean delaying a lot of other features like automatic wheel/tire tracking, lease mileage tracking and so much more.

Maybe one day but likely not soon.

Thanks for the feedback and considering my ideas for future releases. I'm looking forward to the leaderboards as a bit of fun for all. I found myself checking the dashboard during my trip often so I added it to my phone right next to the Rivian app!
