Yikes!! This is not what I want to hear about the Bellevue SC! My baby is scheduled for a trip over to the west side in January. Gotta get it over the snowy/icy I-90 Snoqualmie pass! We're about 6-7 OTA updates behind since last spring due to a bad "Multifunction Control Module", along with a few other minor things. Also, need the tonneau replacement, but I'm not expecting that on this service trip. Scheduled this Jan. appointment months ago now...was the soonest they could take it. What I would hope would take about a week to deal with, may end up longer considering their overload. I hate the idea of being without my truck for any period of time, so this could be painful.

Hope they can get your situation fixed right away!! At least my truck is otherwise working just fine. But, I know they are struggling with repair services and, honestly, I expected these issues from a new company. I love my truck and the company, so I'm doing my best to be understanding and patient.

I have nothing helpful to add that hasn’t already been said, but I do want to say that I really, really appreciate your clean and bright garage. I’m feeling a little envy because I wish my garage looked like that.

Hopefully scheduling gets figured out. My guess is that it will be at the service center level rather than at the “corporate” service level.

FYI Bellevue has no loaners, or at least has very few with very limited availability. I tried to get one 3 weeks ago and was told there was nothing onhand.

Can also confirm that they are booking dates very far out into the future. The same is true for the only locations that can do body work on a Rivian up here (Accurate Auto Body is where I went and they were booking up to 3-4 months out due to volumes).

There's definitely an issue across the industry relating to staffing, but that's being exacerbated by there being only 1 service center up here and it serving far more than just WA (Accurate Auto Body was telling me about a guy from Montana who had to bring his R1T down here to get fixed) and there being so few trained body shops that can work on them.

Definitely needs to get fixed somehow. Until then I'm just trying to be extra cautious so I don't have to go through all this.

All that said, the people at Bellevue have been great to me and helped me out a few times. The one 'major' service item I had to have resolved they were awesome at working with me to help me out when I coudn't afford to be without the truck for a week.

Times like these require out-of-the-box thinkers at corporate levels. If Tesla was faced with 4+ month waits at SC's Elon would somehow arrange to rent space somewhere for temporary pop-up mini service facilities to service their vehicles.

Rivian can't have their cake and eat it too.. just like the rest of us.
Want to meet end of year productions numbers to keep Wall Street happy? Okay, push out crap quality control vehicles with the promise that issues will be addressed by the local Service Centers. But, then don't expect anything less than overwhelmed Service Centers and extremely unhappy/frustrated $80K vehicle owners when you can't even schedule an appointment for an un-drivable vehicle for 4 months.

From my mechanical background, what I see is that the bellows, the thing around the air bag, is deformed, not because of anything you can see.. Its whats underneath that is the problem. That air strut is simply not airing up.

Isnt this a on-going problem for that position on the truck. I seem to remember others having that issue.

Update.

Big thanks to the Service team on the phone and the Service Center team at Bellevue Service Center.

I was able to safely drive to SC this morning. While I was driving there I was in touch with Service Team on the phone again and they were able to notify the Service Center team about this situation and the fact I was on the way there.

When I arrived, the Service Center team was already aware of everything, and as I understood senior technician was super kind to take a look with me on the issue and told me I did the right thing bringing the truck back to them since it needs immediate attention.

Service advisers were able to provide me with the loaner and I drove away.

Again, I'm not mad about the whole situation, and I'm glad that the Service team and Bellevue Service Center team are really great people. I have no doubts it will be fixed soon.

Lucky you got a loaner! Those are definitely in high demand and short supply right now. Good luck on getting the fix soon!

Update:

Big thanks to Bellevue Service Center and the whole Rivian team.

The SC was able to accept my car on Thursday and started working on it. It was fixed the next day and I was told that the team was testing the truck to make sure everything was working as designed.

Yesterday, on Saturday, I got my car back, drove it for about 70 miles, and then checked everything. Everything is looking good and the car rides as new again.

I'm really thankful that this situation was resolved as soon as possible and that I can drive and enjoy my truck again.

RL air spring was replaced with a new one.
