I am in it for the long haul as well. I have the DSP shares and just picked up 114 more just at the close at around $42. Maybe Thursday will be another day for a buy.
Yep, the world sure isn't helping any, and the quarterly call won't slow it down either. I am planning on picking up some more shares at the end of the week. I had thought $50 would stabilize for a bit, then $45 blew right by. Maybe it will bounce at $40? Unfortunately, the earnings call will drag it deeper. I predict $35 before the end of the week.

You read my mind! I could see Rivian becoming a sub-brand of another company. What other brand focuses on outdoor adventure? Ironically, it too has an iconic grille.

Stellantis acquisition of Rivian has to be somewhere near worst case scenario. I'd drop my preorder and likely wouldn't buy one if it became a stellantis subsidiary.

Free hot wings and ham sandwiches and the experience centers. I also think the vegan, all natural, look might not be what we imagined (or hoped for).

Agree that it may not be the best for us. Since they are late to the EV party, this is a quick way for them to jump the line.

Considering I'm a Ram fan, I wouldn't mind.

But the company ideals are pretty opposite.

Once upon a time I was a fan of dodge vehicles and especially Jeep and I absolutely love my 98 XJ. That said, those days were 3 acquisitions ago and it's hard to argue that every brand under that ownership hasn't gotten progressively worse with each acquisition.

It's funny, in the days following the IPO, as the price was going to the moon, I was called all kinds of names on Reddit for saying we'll see $60 again. I mean as much as I love this brand, the two consumer offerings today are an electric truck and an electric SUV targeted at a very narrow market. It wouldn't make sense to think they should have a larger share of the market than competitors with a wider net. But, I think as more commercial orders come through, the production line issues get resolved, and other product offerings are make, they will eventually rebound. I really don't see any justification for much higher pricing than where we are now until some or all of that happens.

Considering the current environment, I think a target of $38 is realistic for the next year or two. Rivian needs to be a long-term investment. Any startup will be too volatile in the short term to worry about. I bought at IPO and will invest more when I think the bottom has hit, but both of those investments will be 10+ years (hopefully).

I agree 100%
I'm a buyer at $35, and I'll buy more at $30.

I still feel like an idiot not selling my stock at 156. Could have easily doubled my money.

Don't watch the market and you won't care. The missed opportunity is only on paper. I could show you thousands of ways that you could have become a multi-millionaire in the stock market. Look at the bright side, Uncle Sam likes short-term gains more than long-term, so you will save some % there.

179! And yes, I feel the same. I sold 75 of my original 175 then but yeah, I could have very easily taken the 200% profit and been very happy. It was more than obvious.

A lot of people sold half of their stock when it doubled, which left the other half as "free" money invested. It's actually a good strategy for a volatile IPO purchase. I"ve done that before simply because of the hype.
