Interesting to hear that they record the torque on each of the critical fasteners, and have traceability.
Except when they don’t lol. Of all the fasteners you’d think this one would be among the most important. It literally holds on the wheel. He got a little uncomfortable, stumbling over his words as he stammered out that they should have been watching this one but weren’t. I’d love to know the real story.

He said that they do record it, but that somehow (?) they had lost that information on those fasteners (it seems unlikely, to me, that it was only those two particular bolts) - but that it was corrected, now, and that the records were being kept, now.
At least that is what I took away from the conversation.

They likely have the data, but the data probably doesn't accurately reflect how tight the fastener is under load. They were tightening the nut to a specific torque value while the vehicle was in the air. It's probably not consistent after the suspension is loaded.
