Why not just cancel your order?. Nothing against you personally, but to be honest, people have been waiting a long time for their vehicle and you moving in line to get it and then trying to sell your spot to me is definitely "sus". Why not buy it outright, and then advertise it as a private sale?.

You probably aren't sus, but $10,000 for a spot is a little extreme. Say your R1S is $100,000, are you going to knock off $10,000 and sell it for $90,000?.

It would be 10,000 plus whatever I end up paying for the vehicle. The vehicle cost would just be whatever you end up picking out from the shop. Right now prices on the shop range from 77-84k. This would mean worst case scenario whoever buys my slot would end up paying 94k plus taxes and fees for a brand new vehicle and have a very short wait and still have choices over specs.

An R1S in the shop for between $77k and $84k?.......That has to be before, plaint, wheel/tires and battery pack.

Our R1T started at $78k and then we added the blue paint, tires/wheels and the tonneau cover and the large battery pack, after all that it was $91k. The R1S is more to begin with.

Hate to say this, but the markup isn't what it was a year ago. We have a 2021 Rav4 Prime and we bought it for $50k out the door brand new. We were thinking of selling it last year and would have got $55k for it. I just looked the other day and we would be lucky to get $35,000.

I bought used R1T for 105k + tax.. :-(

that was like an year ago when things were hot... I regret it..

I am guessing someone made a pretty decent money from the transaction... and I can't fault him/her as I was eager to get my hands on brand new R1T and I didn't want to wait 2+ years.

Had I known what's going to happen in 1 year, I wouldn't have bought that time.

As defcon888 mentioned, things have changed a lot. There are more R1S than R1T driving around the corners.

People aren't that desparate to get the R1S, let alone at 10k markup..

The market is definitely turning against the EVs for good or bad reason, and Rivian get heat once their full reservation orders are fulfilled..

There are no more multi-year waits for the R1S and the R1T can be had now...as in today...by placing an order and waiting a few weeks for delivery. Rivian has even said all orders placed for R1S will be fulfilled before the end of 2024. Practically, anyone placing an order today might be looking at a six-month wait which is similar to the 4-6 months you run into at Porsche, Land Rover (not Range Rover, those are still past a year last I heard) or anywhere else.

Unless you've got a launch date Cybertruck reservation from 2019 that's getting delivered this year I think the R1S game is up.
