Service Center Body Panel Replacement w/PPF

Mine does this too. I use a sharpie to make it look better as I don't want them or a body shop attempting to make it better and only make it worse.

We told them to fix it with a paint pen. No body shop. We’ll see how it goes.

I’m curious to see really good paint pen repairs. There was a chip and edge rubbing on my front fascia at pickup. It was obvious they tried to mask it with a paint pen and it was an awful amateur job. I can’t tell if I should expect all limestone paint pen jobs to look just as awful.

Regarding PPF, I wouldn’t expect Rivian to replace or credit anything non-factory. I took delivery with a few cosmetic issues and made plans with my PPF installer to have replacement film panels ready for two areas that will need Rivian to correct chipped paint. I plan on removing the existing PPF at drop off then drive straight to my detailer after they correct the issues (hopefully satisfactorily) to reapply new film. Still need to discuss if I need to leave time with it unwrapped to off-gas, etc.

My R1T is in service for steering wheel vibration at high speed. I have 22” wheels as well. The advisor mentioned something about replacing the steering wheel and balancing the wheels and tires.

At delivery we pointed out a paint defect on the edge of the hood and were told to open a ticket. We were picking up the truck at the factory and driving it back to the east coast so we didn't have much choice. After talking to service it was going to be months before an appointment. We had them send us a paint pen and we had our PPF installer apply the paint to the edge before they did the PPF and we edge wrapped the PPF. They did a good job and if you didn't know where the repair was made you wouldn't spot it.

With our door I'm not sure how it will work out. The chips are only on the edge. If we can cover that and get the door properly adjusted that wouldn't probably be ok. We might then go ahead and PPF that door and edge wrap it as well. Our current PPF stops before the front doors.
