Just took my 2025 R1S earlier this week, I found that a few settings that I changed always revert to default/original settings, including Parking Assist Audible Warnings (under Drive+) and Regenerative Braking (under Drive Mode).

I tried to restart the information system as well as the vehicle as suggested by customer service without any luck.

Anyone else having the same/similar experience? I've seen someone mentioning similar issue on the original generation with previous software version, so maybe I should wait for another software patch? If this is the case, how should I report the issue to Rivian? (I'm currently on 2024.19.02)

Best,

It's fairly common for HVAC or radio settings to reset after an update or even randomly, but I've not yet heard anyone say their regen or parking settings continually reset between drives.

If the software and vehicle resets did not solve it, I would call in and talk to a service rep. They might ask you to do some additional troubleshooting and if that doesn't work they can schedule you for an appointment.

Took delivery yesterday. I’ve noticed that with the regen settings. Not sure if it’s suppose to save or default back. The manual states “moderate regen is standard for all drive modes except snow and soft sand”

Thank you for the information.

The owner's guide does seem to imply (or maybe it's my poor English) that the parking assist audible warning setting might revert back after the drive cycle, although when I ask the customer service agent, she said it's not expected to revert.

Parking Assist Audible Warnings: Enable or disable the audible warnings for Park Assist at any time during the drive cycle.

I have the EXACT same problem with my 2025. When I park and lock after 5-10 minutes (I think once it rests) the usb in the center dies, settings that should save reset, and needs a soft restart.

I managed to figure out a workaround for the usb, I unplug before I lock each time. It never needs to soft reset if I do that for that piece, the power stays on.

It screams software bug and I can reproduce it on demand.

Picked it up 6/28.

Have they responded to your service ticket yet for it?

I haven't tried the USB yet. I've booked a service appointment but it will be 3 weeks later. Will update this thread once I got back. I suspect it's a software bug as well.
