Should I have a delivery window?

Hey all, I'm a 10/2019 pre-order that only recently was contacted by my guide. It's been a good experience thus far, she helped me change my config because I had max battery and I want to see my truck this decade. What she can't tell me is my expected delivery window. She said usually the account has a window but mine says "None", which she said also doesn't seem right. She's trying to find it by going through her internal process but it's apparently very difficult.

I should at least have a window, right? Even if it's 2023 or something crazy.

Everyone who had a reservation before 2022 should have gotten an estimate by email back at the end of 2021. Then in June, updated windows went out, but mostly just for those who had an updated window of 2022. Since then they've slowly been updating those who have 2023 windows. CS has always been able to locate my estimated delivery(my first one was oct-dec '22, and my new one is sept-oct '22). Try searching your email for "r1t estimated delivery window", that was the subject of both of my delivery estimate emails. Is your reservation a launch edition?

Everyone who had a reservation before 2022 should have gotten an estimate by email back at the end of 2021. Then in June, updated windows went out, but mostly just for those who had an updated window of 2022. Since then they've slowly been updating those who have 2023 windows. CS has always been able to locate my estimated delivery(my first one was oct-dec '22, and my new one is sept-oct '22). Thank you for that suggestion. I've searched all Rivian emails in my inbox and didn't see that but I'll look that up specifically. Appreciate it.

No, not the Launch Edition.

Is your preorder for the adventure package or explore package? Along with the max pack the explore package has been delayed until 2023 at least.

It's probably some bug on their end that's either hiding your delivery window or caused whatever system they use to calculate the delivery windows to skip your order. Had you cancelled or made any changes during the pricing increase fiasco?

It's the adventure package 20" wheels - dark AT. When I spoke to my guide in early July, she told me my original config was not likely to be made this year. The main culprit was the max battery but I think I had a different Tonneau cover as well that needed to be switched to Powered. So I changed those two things that she suggested. Other than that, I haven't changed anything and haven't canceled or re-ordered. I'm 7 miles from a service center in Utah. It's really bugging me because I could pick a truck from the Shop if I knew I was another 3-6 months away from my original config. I'd compromise on the color from LA Silver to Limestone if that meant 2-4 week delivery vs. ?????????????

Yeah the powered tonneau cover and ocean coast interior also have not started shipping but there are some people with late '22 delivery estimates that have the manual tonneau or ocean coast configured. Compared to the max pack and explore packages, not quite as big of a delay but who knows since none of them have started shipping yet.

There are a few other things as far as configuration goes that seem to help speed up delivery. Mostly right now that is having 21" wheels and no underbody shield configured. There seems to be shortages of the 20" wheels and they are also the most in demand. From what people post on here and on the sub reddit, it seems that most deliveries in the last month have been with the 21" wheels and no underbody shield.

Other than configuration, location seems to be a factor, and not necessarily just being near a service center. It seems like certain regions/service centers are getting more priority than others, but that's purely speculation.

Unfortunately it seems that the guides don't get a lot of insight into how delivery and production priority is determined. Basically they can only see your estimated window until your configuration is slotted into the production schedule. It also seems like there won't be a time limit on your access to the shop so you could give it another week or two to see if one closer to your config pops up or your config gets slotted into production. It might also be worth pressing your guide to reach out to their tech team to see if they can figure out why you don't have a delivery estimate attached to your order.

I'm happy for you, Rob. CS has never been able to locate my estimated delivery. CS has always told me that I simply don't have a delivery window estimate.

To the OP's question: yes, you certainly should have a delivery window. But if you don't ... well ... at least you have company. (That's probably not the answer you wanted to hear.)

Misery does love company, so thank you. I’m glad to know I’m not alone. Oddly, when I contact Rivian CS about this, they just tell me they will refer my question back to my guide so they can answer. I told them my guide doesn’t know and they said that’s my best bet. Wow…

Did you get a delivery date when you had the max pack? Like 1H 2023 or 2H 2023.

In the same boat. 12/19 preorder that has been softlocked for 2 months and have never received a single email regarding an estimated delivery date. Each time I bring it up with either Support or my Guide, I get the standard "everyone will receive an updated delivery timeline email by the end of the summer".

I placed my order in 12/2021 and never been given a window. CS has repeatedly told me “not in 2022” (which I already knew) and “probably 2023” (not a window). If you ordered in 2019 I would think you should have had a window, even if it was an inaccurate one…

Unfortunately, this will be a recurring theme or at least it was for me - even after taking delivery. I’d call CS because my guide is MIA and CS tells me to get ahold of my guide despite me telling them that I’ve been unable to.

Others on here have had better luck with their guides or have escalated issues above their guide so might be able to go that route if you aren’t getting anywhere.
