Has anyone else had issues with driver+ deactivating when coming up to a overhead toll reader? I'm in South Florida and we have overhead readers without toll booths. Driver+ shouldn't deactivate for something over the road, Tesla and other companies driver assistance features don't do that.

I have submitted a ticket to service and they said working as intended. I emailed Mapbox without any response.

Anybody have suggestions or have the same issue?

I thought that was a strange "feature," too. Not sure why it would do that, but it does seem intentional.

Every time. Our area has the overhead tracking so no stopping even required

It seems intentional for sure, but not sure why. It's pretty annoying since I pass by about 4 of them each way to and from work.

They are not differentiating between automatic or manual tolls. They have the toll booths mapped and require you to take over approaching them.

They may change that in the future, right now seems like they error on the very conservative side.

is it simply that the data from Mapbox doesn’t know the difference between toll booths and over head toll readers?

I can understand deactivating so the car doesn’t run into a concrete toll booth, so maybe it simply doesn’t have the data to differentiate?

Exactly, I think it's a mapbox issue. I think there haven't updated there maps in a while or their software doesn't understand the difference. I think the overhead readers several years ago were real booths.

I get the reason if real toll booths, not the overhead readers though.

I think Rivian doesn't know anything about it, and it would be a mapbox thing for sure.

I don't know how to reach mapbox to report, since I emailed with no response.

Also I have areas by my house on a map that show dirt lots or fields but for the last 3 years it's been a developed plaza area.

Seems maps are outdated.

I experience the same on a relatively new highway that I use, which has had electronic, overhead toll booths from day one. Its kind of strange if Mapbox cannot tell the difference but it sounds like the reason why Driver+ disengages ....

Thankfully I live in the PNW where the rain alone deactivates driver+ due to "Camera is blurry".

So no need to worry about the toll readers deactivating it. On the occasion that it's not raining I did notice driver+ deactivates for them, but I don't think there is anything we can do about it.

I am curious if Blue Cruise or Super Cruise does the same thing?

Having put 10K+ miles in using Blue Cruise I don’t recall it ever deactivating for an overhead toll scanner.

Yeah mine deactivates everyday.

because of an overhead toll booth…
on an exit…
on an exit I’m not taking!

But it’s easy to file a map update request ticket. /s

I don't think the MapBox maps have anything to do with what driver+ knows.

Blue cruise, super cruise nor tesla's autopilot were affected by the overhead toll booth. So seems like a rivian thing or mapbox. Not sure what other auto makers use mapbox.

As far as mapbox and driver plus talking, they have to have some type of communication.

Who do you file a map update ticket with? I've put in service request twice with rivian service, they have no knowledge or fix for it. Mapbox, I submit a issue request on their site plus emailed with no response.

I would only report things to Mapbox that they have control over, and can fix. Things like Navigation issues.

For this issue I would continue to create tickets. In fact I would advocate creating a thread specifically asking people who are impacted by this to create a ticket, and then we all document on the thread the result of the ticket.

Success would be convincing the service people to push the issue up to the driver+ team. That's really the only team at Rivian that can determine how to fix the problem.
