Thought I’d do a little show and tell of the https://soonishev.com/products/soonishev-topocharge-wireless-phone-charger

Just to point out how “dumb” the “new improved gen2 wireless chargers” is:

It mainly doesn’t work because the entire center coils are being blocked by the wedge on the gen2 tops that is supposed to help keep the phones in place. But imo does more harm. If you picture a phone on this either left or right side, none of the coils truly match up with the phone.

Anyways, I just installed the Soonish (@Sojhinn), took about 1 hour, I spent some extra time putting some extra masking on the back to hold the wires in place.

Excited to get the full 22.5watts on each charger now! Note, I was unable to test the NFC card reader. Apparently if you turn on MFA, the NFC card reader is never used? I tried turning off the MFA on my iPhone several times, but my r1S wouldn’t get the memo. So I just skipped that test.

one question for other owners who installed this, is the top sit like this for you too? It’s not as flush as it could be…

You can double check that some wires didn't snake underneath. Otherwise it's the top mat. Give it a few heat cycles in some hot weather and it should lay flat. You can tell that will happen if you it will touch the wood with a little down pressure.

The manufacturer of the mats ended up putting the top mats in some tiny bags and folded over the mats while shipping. That will change with the next shipment.

If you want to speed up the process use a hair dryer. But be careful too much direct heat will cause it to curl.

Here's what mine looks like. It was installed about 2-3 weeks ago.

It hasn't laid any more flat than the day it was installed. In my case, I used pixel snap pucks which are thicker than the apple ones. I think that's why mine is especially lifted.

Did you buy the pixelsnap or apple pucks? In the install video he mentions the pixelsnaps will like this but charge faster. I chose them anyway.

mine doesn’t seem to settle well either but I’ll see how it sits after a while. But more importantly I can’t get the charging to work. When I test it before I clip the whole assembly down in the last step the charging works, when I then clip it in it stops working and doesn’t charge on either puck. Turning the car off then on reset it and again worked while not clipped in but when snapped in it stops working again…
