Spare Tire Well Cover

I have owned my R1T for almost 2 years and just discovered that the spare tire well cover goes up 90 degrees - not just 45 degrees! It automatically stops at 45 degrees but if you push it a little it goes on up to 90 degrees. Big help in removing spare tire! I keep learning new stuff about this truck all the time!

Nice to know. Make sure you shut it all the way. I had mine just up about 1/4" on the right side and when I went to shut the tailgate, I heard this loud POP. I called and made an appointment to have it looked at. A couple of days later I was out trying to figure it out and noticed the right side was up just about 1/4". I pushed/slammed it down and voila, the popping went away.

When I took delivery the delivery guy told me to always push down on the right side when closing to make sure it locks shut.

I once saw someone doing this ... couldnt help but think how awesome this would be for tailgating. Especially if you filled the spare tire area with ice and drinks!
