I jumped into my standard battery pack loaner this morning and saw it over the charge rate I set, and beyond a time I set. I should've taken a pic, but alas, I suck. It mentioned "charge to 100% for best performance."

Is this normal for a standard Pack? I understand why 100% is best, but I manually said less and end earlier, because I have Time of Use rates. Perhaps it's a loaner setting?

It’s normal, the standard pack will automatically charge to 100% every 2 weeks for the battery health.

Yes. As I typically only need to charge about once every two weeks, it almost always changes it to 100% for me.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.

Welcome to the weird world of battery chemistries! This has to do with the Standard Pack being an LFP battery. The different chemistry needs to be charged to 100% every once in a while to help calibrate the state of charge. No worries though, the LFP battery can take the abuse, unlike NMC batteries that are recommended to only charge to 80% on a regular basis. Charging them higher on occasional longer trips is fine.

I think of you use the charging timer in the app, you could end charging before your rates go up.

As I said, I understand the reason for 100%, I'm more concerned about the software overriding my end time and percentage. It didn't "recommend" it, it forced it.

I did use it. It overrode my schedule.

When I plug in and see that it has defaulted to 100%, I set it to 85% and it doesn’t change to 100 again for that charging session.
