I've been using a WEboost in my home for many years and talked my employer into letting me install one in our office when we relocated to a basement wing. I've had great success with them _but_ there are bands they don't support (their literature says the units support T-Mobile but one of their tech support people told me, flat out, that this is not true; did you know that you can sometimes hear people rolling their eyes over the telephone?). Also, I have not used one of the models that are intended for motor vehicles. Final caveat: they are signal _boosters_. If there's truly no cell service where you are, you're SOL. Unlike something that receives signal from a satellite (which are omnipresent but have other problems.)WeBoost, not sure about the well thought of part though, mixed reviews.
The best thing about the WEboost, for me, is that it can bring a signal from where there is one to a location where there ain't one. My house is basically a Faraday cage. The WEboost antenna is on a 16 ft. mast outside. I get "one bar" (yeah, not a unit of EM power, but roll with it) where the antenna is and zero inside the house without the booster. Once I turn it on, I get a solid four bars inside.
Anyway, just my experience. As others have said, YMMV. And there are other manufacturers out there whose products are likely every bit as good.
