Steering wheel off kilter

Has anyone taken their steering wheel off to check centering of the nut? I know there was a recall for this but apparently mine was "aligned." I beg to differ, and I'm ready to take it apart to DIY.

Are you sure it's not just you that is misaligned? Do you have a fat wallet in your left pocket?

Correct. Angling the wheel straight on a flat surface makes me go left. I've had a few alignments and it drives straight / drifts slightly right as it should, it doesn't drift hard right. When it drives straight, the steering wheel is constantly at the angle. I really just want to pop it off, turn it one notch left, pop it back on.

That looks off-kilter to me. I have pulled wheels off before, it's pretty easy if you have the correct puller. Just be careful you don't break your clock spring doing it. There really is no aftermarket for Rivian as you well know and breaking something is going to be hard to fix.

Did they pull the wheel off and reinstall? Or did they do an alignment? And did they say what warranty covered it? I assume this would fall under comprehensive warranty and not the "adjustment" period, but could be wrong.

Here is the exact service performed. The wheel was off 10 degrees from day 1. It was corrected when I took it in 6 months after delivery.

- Customer states that The steering wheel is off 10 degrees. ------------- - This was requested on
5.17.23 at approximately 10:30pm EST. - The concern was observed under these conditions: --------
----- - This is an issue with one occurrence
Cause:
- Technician performed four wheel alignment due to angles out of specifications causing steering
wheel off center.
Correction/Remedy:
- Alignment, Four Wheel, Check and Adjust
- Test Drive, 30 Minutes

yeah it's out of alignment. Mine has the same issue, I'm waiting for my service appt to get it addressed.

That looks like alignment to correct, not centering the steering wheel. My alignment is fine, it tracks straight, just the steering wheel is off.

My steering tilt progressively got worse as my poor alignment wore tires unevenly.

My R1S tracked straight but the steering wheel was off. I expected them to remove the steering wheel and fix it that way. Correcting the alignment fixed the issue.

Mine looked like that from delivery. I took an equal amount of turn(1/2 turn) from one tie rod, and add the same to the other tie rod.. I did that with less than 1000 miles on it. It still is perfectly straight and my tires still look good at 13,000 miles.
