Storage Fee at Service Centers?

Perhaps Rivian should pick sub-urban areas for their Service Centers (where they can afford larger lots) to avoid situations like this??? ?
Sadly in WA, both (Bellevue and Seattle) are in the most brutally expensive real estate areas. Why ???

Good to know! So door dents/vandalism...and stuff like that should be on Rivian to fix then after a service visit. I am a little more accepting of their pick up requirement if thaf is case then.

The issue is going to be whether they acknowledge (or you can prove) that the damage happened while the car was in their possession.

When it comes down to it, I guess my view is that where a SC is in a dense area with limited space I can understand a storage fee, although I think it should kick in after 72 hours where many of the customers are likely to live 100+ miles from the service center, and I think they should be a lot better when they schedule at saying "we expect we will need the car for x-number of days". And I don't think they should be charging any fee at all where, as in my case, they agreed when I scheduled that they would have the truck for two weeks, and didn't warn me about any fee.

Very good thought. Not only is the land or rent very expensive in these urban areas, the incidence of criminal activity is higher. Rivian suffers from severe cranial rectumitis in this area.

Just heard back from the SC. They've agreed to waive the storage fee as a one time exception, because I was supposed to have been told about it when I scheduled the service. Once the service is completed, they are going to move the truck to an off-site secure storage area where they keep their pre-delivery R1s. I'm happy with this outcome.

I would tell them that was reasonable, but that I also charge storage fees and am expecting them to pay me $75 for each day that I have been warehousing the broken vehicle for them.

Exactly. Where in the actual warranty does it say that the owner is responsible for storage fees when the vehicle is left at a SC for warranty service?

They don't charge you for time before it's serviced, just when it is completed. it's literally in the agreement you sign when you drop your vehicle off.

Is it still the case that people are dropping off their vehicles, which then sit at the service centers for days or weeks before anybody even looks at them? So when you drop your car off you don't know if it will be ready for you in a day or a week or a month, but you have to get their within 24 hours to pick it up as soon as it's ready.

This also doesn't make sense when a service center like Chelsea is servicing customers in four states (MA, ME, VT, NH) ...

I also am more sympathetic to a fee like this when the service center is in a tight urban area like Brooklyn or Boston (but it needs to be disclosed when the appointment is made!), but the language on the docs seems to apply to all service centers? My next-most-convenient service center is the new one in Shelton, CT, where presumably they have a bit more space on their lot.

They told me this after keeping my car for six weeks and only spending one week on the repairs. It was pretty laughable.
