If you have a trailer, plug that it. It should get you out of this mode.

Also, the latest software releases (2024.51.x) are supposed to have a software fix for this bug.
Ironically it was the latest software which randomly tried to install itself (in the middle of the day even though I have specific time of 1:00am) update that created the bug in my case reading the notes of this patch made me laugh out loud when the car was still broken.

About Trailer mode: I went to home depot and just saddled up to a rental-trailer and plugged it in lol. I was able to get to 'all purpose'. While still is front wheel drive only it was MUCH better than the conserve mode. Thanks for the tip!

RIVIAN pulled my update and re-deployed / forced it down to my auto once i got home. They confirmed it had been deployed against my schedule of 1:00 am and had been disturbed by me driving as I had been parked waiting for my kids far from home (that was a concerning factor they are looking into). Once home, it took 70 minutes to install and RIVIAN told me not to drive for 3 hours. So I had to resort to my MINI Cooper R56s

Looks like it fixed everything, except my charging readout say i'm charging at 3 miles added per hour - I'm actually getting proper LV2 speed in reality. I'll take that visual bug in my app over the 2wd. For the record 2WD on a R1S in snow and ice is straight up horrific. 4x4 Mode is seriously 500% better. The difference was quite stark.

My MINI Cooper R56s actually drove better than the R1S in 2wd mode. My guess is weight/momentum with all of that torque with the lack of push from the rears really works against the design. 4x4 mode after that made me feel like a god again. Not quite as good as my LR4, but i'm not spewing fumes and waiting for a 5k part to break and the difference is probably the tires I have the OFF_Road 20" scorps. Which have mixed reviews on icy surfaces.
