I used a Tesla Supercharger for the first time yesterday and was struggling with trying to find the stall number so I can initiate charging from the app. I was expecting the stall number to be on the bottom middle of the charger, but it was blank on multiple chargers. Is there another way to figure out which stall I'm on?

I ended up just plugging into the charger and letting it bill through Rivian, but if I get the Tesla membership for a long roadtrip I'll lose the discounted rate.

Which station was this? I've always seen the labels on the bottom middle. Maybe the labels were placed on the other (wrong) side?

Supercharger in Kelso, WA. About half of the stalls had numbers on them, half didn't. I checked both sides of the stall I was at, but no luck. Maybe I just got a weird supercharger.

Strange, it seems like a normal 12 stall supercharger station, but the pictures on Google Maps show a lot more than that. There are a few pictures of pedestals without labels on Google Maps:

Some are double stacked to service cars on either side of the line of chargers, but this picture doesn't show on street view:

This picture is from 2020 but none have labels:

I think you already said it best. Maybe you were at a weird supercharger station.
